400W HPS + 250W HPS?

Hi all,

I recently bought a 250W HPS to grow male plants in another room. I just cut all of them now and I can use the 250 HPS light in my flowering room. Got a 400W hps already in there. I was wondering which is the best position to place it. Shall I put it above the canopy for maximum light intensity? Maybe under the canopy is better?

Temperatures are dropping now. I think I will be able to control my room temperature, but im not sure if a 400w+250w would be too much light. I guess not since there are 1000W bulbs, right?

Thanks

600 watts to 3x 3 or 4 x 4 is good. leaves use light from above. what is your space? depending on if you have shade or dark spots or not maybe center em.

Yep sorry forgot to mention that. I have a 3x3 tent, 9 plants.
i can do 4-6 full(er) size in a 3 x 3 or small plants or single stock could fit 9 but pots no bigger than 3 gal. so similar yields to four large plants. do you grow multiple strains? do you start blooming them while they are still small?
as for the lights proly center them. one 600w would be better. i have heat issues i couldn't put both lights in my 3x3.

I usually put 9 plants and let them veg until they reach 1ft, usually indicas. Plants usually reach 2ft, but I try to hard to get an even canopy with LST and supercropping. Usually I will succeed. It gets very cold in here and I think I will be able to withstand heat issues, we will see. I will put them in the center/above then.

Thanks

so your fished plant is 2-3ft? how much of that is bud in inches? what kind of yeids do you get, runing it like that? i did out door than with indoor would make 4ft 8 cola plants yeilding an oz or 2. i kindafucked around and got less the last time but was aiming for3-4oz single plants indoor, now i want to aim for 38 grams and maximive plant numbers while still maintaining a worthwhile yeid. i can do quarter oz plants like 12 x .25 = 3 oz or 4 x 1=4 ...

Sorry im european and your metric system is weird to me lol. I think I usually pull between 1oz to 2 oz per plant. Some plants I got 2 oz but it was uncommon. I pulled about 240 grams in total (around 8oz I think). This was my first grow. I read a lot of before growing and everything went fine, but I let the plants go too much time and they started to hermie (rhodelization). I had to make sure I didn't harvest too early. I investigated this matter a lot of times and found that Sea of Green (lots of plants vs fewer plants) usually will outyield fewer bigger plants. But the quality is a bit worse imo. I don't have any nug pics (can't find them sorry) but I got some buds the size of my forearm. I vegged for almost 2 months. The height was around 80cm when finished which is almost 3ft.

This is 3x3

These pics are when the my plants were about 50cm, they got bigger.

My new seeds will arrive tomorrow and I will start a 6 plant grow with a 400 watts hps. My intention is to top them. I swear by topping. The last plant I followed the same method: 2 month veg, I toppeg her like 10 times, LST and supercropped all branches. I will cut her in one week, but I have like 10-12 bud sites and all look like main colas. My guess is that I will pull 2.5 oz dry herb. This was an experiment, I really mistreated that plant and it is a bagseed. Hasn't hermied and looks yummy.
