400w hps to 1000w hps????

Hey i guys i had a quick question about my lighting. I'm on the last day of the 2nd week of flowing and i was wondering if i could switch from a 400w hsp to say maybe a 1000w. My grow space is 36'x24'x60'. Its pretty small but i was thinking of going with a 1000w to maximise my yield. I'm getting some pretty decent flowering (considering it is my first time) but i heard by changing to a 1000w makes a huge difference. One problem i have is i can not install ventilation because my grow room is made of metal but i can leave the doors open all day well the light is on as it's in my garage. Please take a look at the pics and let me know what you think. Thanks alot BM!!!

Ud be fine as long as you have a way to cool the bulb the only difference is your gonna get more lumens out of the 1000w vs the 400w

I have a fan blowing directly at the light and another fan that oscillates blowing on the plants and breaking the air between the plants and lights but there is no way I could set up a inline fan to the vents of the hood as I dont have the space and cannot cut through the storage box they are in

you would need it to be properly air cooled to put a 1000 watt in there, I would drop the lights some before upgrading a bulb even then a 600 will cover you IMO.

Sure just don't keep it in the same position, you might wanna back that monster back a bit. I would do 600w max in that environment.

I'd say that you're fine with the 400w or upgrade to a 600w, for that size 1000w would just not be necessary in my opinion.

See I was thinking 600 at first but I plan on stepping it up on my next grow, this was kind of just like my maiden voyage so to speak!!! LOL

600's have the best lumen to watt ratios and are very popular I wouldnt even consider using 1000's unless it was for industrial applications.

1 kW is definitelly to much for that space. A 600 with air-cooling should would be awesome enough I think

Man if you grow it right...you could potention get close to 5lb.'s, applying methods such as topping or super cropping will get you to this goal. Good luck. But i have a 600 watt HPS, and I highly reccomend you doing the same. 600 watt doesnt burn near as hot as a 1000 watt and it will also save you up to 50% on your electric bill compared to the 1000 watt.

600 watters are the most efficient lumens per watt. You could easily stack 4 in a space that size.

I have seen excellent results from fox farm. I personally am completely sold on house and garden at the moment and I have tried a few.

I have a grow tent that size and have heat priblems. Id say no more than a 600 watt aircooled

Just stay with your 400w I ran 4 girls in ocean forest(plus some other additives) in 5 gallon buckets and the fox farm threesome of nutes my first grow and got 7 ounces from a small closet. Make sure the temp doesn't get too hot get a big fan and run it in there to keep those girls from getting too hot even with a 400 you're going to have too much heat in a space that size.

yeah thanks man but the room temps r good the stay from (74 degrees to 82 degrees) its a very big space so it dont heat up as fast in there plus there is 3 fans in the room alson im thinkin bout buyin a tent ? and add some ducting to reduce the heat.
