400wmh/hps grower!!! thread

I am planning on trying a soil grow at some point I would love to try a tree grow when I do this. I have a deer stand that was built before we owned the property. And let me tell you it is very nice. I will post some pics of it soon. Anyway is probably 5 foot by 4 foot with sides a solid floor and netting. Its about 10 to 12 feet up in the air. I think it would be cool to get some nice soil which of course I will have to do some research on and see what kind of results I get from a deer stand grow. This would keep it away from ground preditors, and with some nice penetraiting netting over the top most birds and squirells would stay away. Keep it out of site from peeps as well. But I am watering my ladies both in flower and in veg 3 times a day remember though I am doing hydro. The soil watering I am not so sure about. I think its like every three days or so. My pots are 2 gallon. Yah my nutes I start weak and end up strong from one side of the spectrum to the other. Less grow during flowering and less Bloom during veg. Some one on a diff thread said not to water during lights out when doing ebb n flow? I water during lights out. Ladies are well It is my first grow and so who knows? You have any ideas Mr.Lightgreen? Or for that matter anyone?

If you are thinking of doing a soil grow I would use Fox Farms, it's the best I have used so far. I tried Happy Frog and didn't get the results I hoped for. Fox Farms has enough nutrients in it for seedlings and seems to do a good job at moisture retention. I added a mild organic fertilizer to it and the results have been great. Smart pots are a good ideah also.

so my new grow box planning on fixxing it up what do you say a 4X3 or is to small for a 400w would it get to hot?

I think you will be fine in that space with 400. You know the drill vent and cool!! How tall will it be? Not to go on but I must. I am building a new flower room. 6' x 8' I am building it in the room that I am currently in. I hate the tent I have for flower. I bought 2 the same 5'x5'x6.5'. I have had to tape the shit out of it to keep the light out. Any way my new room will have window ac and I just got a dual 600hps and 400mh ballast and hood. I will be using a 250 mh in veg. the crappy tent works great for veg. Pics of new hood and ballast
The hood is 27" long and 24 wide. So I am going to finish this grow under the 400 and then it is construction time. I will actually have a window 12000 btu air condtioner in my flower room, it will be awesome. Ill need it with that much light. Floor, cieling, walls all painted flat white. I also bought another hydro system eco grower and some airstones. So big grow will be coming as soon as this grow is over and I will be posting. Need to post somewhere to find out more about floracious and liquid/powder cool bloom i picked up some of that today as well. Anyway I am glad your getting started and will be looking for you here. There for a minute I did not know, of course I can imagine your frustration. So is there any way you can pipe some ac in that space or do you already? I would say you may have to but its possible you might be ok, I am running my 400 in that piece o crap tent tops out at 83, 73 at night , lights out then. I also have ac from house piped in through the top. My Northern Auto is at 4'2" as of this morning, unbelievable. I am seeing alot of crystal build up all over the sugar leaves. Man I am jazzed. Man have you thought about sog that is what I am thinking about. I swear I go from one thing to another. But, yah, I would go with the 250. I use one in veg now and just with the fan running it does not get over 80 in there. Plus my 250 has the ballast built in the hood which means extra heat and no problems. You should be able to get a 250 pretty cheap. Get one that is switchable from mh to hps, two birds with one stone. Then for veg you could do cfls cut down on costs all the way around. If you sog you could cut your clones veg out for a week or two take like 4 or 5 clones put those babies in flower and keep repeating the cycle. I guess you would not even need the cfls with a switchable 250 you could do it all with it. You could take clones of your clones to keep it going , I mean after they do there veg for a couple weeks you know. Or, with the cfls you could keep a mother or two going and just take clones from her. I think once your clone s have rooted and are about 5 inch or so you could take a clone from them put under cfls which I guess you would need to keep it on going throw your veged clones in flower when there done repeat and so on. I have read to sog you are basically just keeping the main cola and some sort of netting is required to keep them from toppling. Also you can grow one per sqare foot so depending on your closet if you could do four girls your looking at 1/2 to 1 oz. per cola. Anyway I am seriously gonna do that my friend. What do you think?

Weird thing just happened, I walked out of my computer room and my electric toothbrush was on and as I approached it to shut it off, it shut off by itself. Freaky! It scared the crap out of me.

I use Beastie Bloomz to finish my plants. I think the NPK on it is 0-50-30. It seems to really pack the weight on the budz. Started with half dose and worked my way up to full dose slowly. You can achive this also.

Well I am using cool bloom liquid and powder powder is 3/48/28. And floricious.
