4ft t5 lights

Do you think using 10 of the 4ft t5 lights with the flowering bulbs would be able to grow 3 good size plants start to finish? i already have the lights from previous

i always use what i have i think those lights sound alright wonder what others think?

yes they will grow fine under them. my last grow was under 3 5ft floras start to finish and the bud was ok

Those lamps are better suited for a SOG grow. Have you considered adapting your grow methods to match your lighting?

You can still do a sea of green in soil. It just means you have many small plants (usually clones) and flower them quickly. This is beneficial because t5s don't provide the penetration that you'd need to really need for bigger plants.

I've never tried flowering with T5's but I do have a bunch of fixtures with 6500K bulbs I used at one time for the veg tent. I'm actually working on swapping out my CFL setup in my veg tent and putting the 4 bulb 4 ft T5HO fixture back in there. I just feel that it'd work better all around. But really I can't say much about flowering with T5's, all I know is they veg well and they put out a hell of a lot of light.

I know the t5 work great for veg so im going to try them in flowering. Do you think using 3 gallon grow buckets would be good. Or would that be too big. I was originally going to use 4 gallon buckets and doing only 3. Do you think i should use 2 or 3 gallon buckets and doing six? What do you recommend?

T5s work for flowering, too.

Man t5 can flower. i'm doing the same thing you are right now and have a thread. 540 watts t5ho. Def sog is the way to go. thats what i'm doing anyways in hydro. Mine can handle 14 plants in sog. you'll love the lack of heat. i just switched from hps and man. finally i can sleep at 74 degrees. no more 83!!!! good luck man. and they lose output much much slower than hid. bright till they burn out

The t5's will work fine. I would recommend getting some of the veg bulbs though. In the past I grew plants from start to finish under the veg and bud bulbs and the plants under the veg bulbs turned out a lot nicer. Using the veg bulb for vegging and the bud bulb for budding is ideal though.

I would say you should definitely go with the smaller pots and more plants. You will be better off with more small plants with this type of lighting.

Def man. these lights will yield the same as hps if there used for what they are made for. short plants. thats why i'm doing a lr2 grow with these lights. i wouldn't grow trees with these though. 3 foot maximum height i would say if not less

The best thing anybody using T5HO for flowering can do is purchase individual parabolic reflectors for their bulbs. They are up to $20/reflector for 2ft tubes, but increase light at the plant by up to 250% over a flat reflector and are available for bulb spacing 2" and up. some better T5 fixtures come with reflectors that are contoured around the tubes and these are pretty good as well.
