4th Grow..Nirvana BlackJack Super Scrog!!! Rep to all!!

Hey guys just got my cabinet up and running again.Ready for another round of growing!! This time I am only going to be doing a 1 plant scrog. The reason I havent done scrog in the past is because I always have had to take my plant out of the box to change my rez water. With the scrog net attached to the box this makes it almost impossible. So what I have done is constructed a nice little scrog setup that I have fully attached to my 3 gal rez. Any ways the strain that I am growing is Nirvanas Blackjack. I was growing it on my last grow which I am sure some of you have seen. But my father passed away suddenly and they ran out of water while I was busy with family for a few days. Had to move in with mom. But now that every thing is cooling down in our lives a bit I started to get my cab in a working state. I am going to be using CFLS all the way through veg. And I am going to be using either my 150w HPS or I am thinking of purchasing a BlackStar 240w LED. Let me know what you guys think about those. The seed has been germinating for 2 days now and has sprouted a nice little tap root. The journal has been started!! And I welcome all of you to take a seat and join the ride!!! Took a few pics of my setup not complete but will be tomorrow and will have the new girl in her new home ready to rock and roll!!! STAY HIGH GUYS!!!!

I like the setup, interestingly to the left.. Don't see many of those.

One more thing, that net seems far from the bottom of the grow medium, can you give me a height?

First off thanks for stoppin by bro. Second off About the bucket being to the left. I had 2 plants in there the last grow and if you look close you can see my intake coming up through the floor. I have 2 4in radio shack fans down there. I also have a PC grow going on right now in my link that I started at on end of the PC and did the same exact thing. So I am very confident that this will work out more than good. And 3rd the net is a little high right now. I would say maybe a bit higher than 12 in I am going to be lowering it down to prolly about 7 or 8 in tomorrow. Thanks again. Rep +

For the past few months my mind has been stuck on yield per sf, so I'm gathering pieces to put together a cabinet grow by fall.

Also I want to see your scrog, I'm muddling through my 1st scrog now.

Roll up a fat doob and take a seat its going to be a wild ride. I am going to manipulate the hell outta this girl. My goal is to fill almost every square with a bud. Plant is in a rapid rooter and will be put into the DWC as soon as I see the first root pop out. Thanks for stopping by. STAY HIGH!!!

hey Guys did a decent amount of work to the box yesterday. And got it all light proof and ready to rock and roll. I have started 3 seeds which 2 I am giving to my friend. They have all popped and are getting ready to show their catlydons. Any ways maybe I'll snap some pics today. I cant wait till I get her in the DWC and she explodes. STAY HIGH GUYS!!!

Nice scrog setup!

I have 2 of the 240 watt Blackstars, I'm happy with them, and think it would be a better choice over a 150 watt HPS.

They don't run at a full 240 watts, they operate at 133 watts each.

Hey Gary thanks for stopping by. I have really been debating with my self if I should get one or not. I mean it uses about the same amount of watts as my 150 but yet it is shooting out perfect nanometers comparied to HPS. I have been wanting to talk to some one that has been using them for a bit. Have you have a successful harvest with them and I'd you have can you share some pics. Thanks again. STAY HIGH!! REP+

I've harvested with both my 240 watt Blackstars, and my 90 watt LED from HTG. I got 93 grams (dried) from one Blackstar, and 88 on the other. And that was from an average yielding strain. I am running a bigger yielding strain this time, maybe I'll get better than my last grow....



The last pic is a bud from the very bottom of the plant.

I'll have more, and better pics from this current grow.

The Blackstar will outperform the 150 watt HPS, and it will run cooler too. And it has a bigger footprint, covers like 2Xs the area.

Yeah the main reason I am going to e going LED is because of heat. I had to down grade my exhaust cause it wa too loud. Now my shit is too hot. Guess led is the only way to go for me from now on

I used to do HPS, and not only was the heat a little much, like you said the fans are too loud, I had a 4" Vortex, I think it was like 170 CFM. It was loud enough to be heard throughout my entire house, which isn't small.

I have one 45 CFM axial fan for intake, and one 70 CFM axial fan for exhaust, and it is mostly quiet, I have 4 cabs running, all 4 together are a little loud, but can't be heard beyond the room they're in. And my temps are perfect.

They say the 6" CanMax fans run a lot quieter than the Vortex fans, but with 4 separate cabs, 4 of those wouldn't be practical. It would have been too expensive, and just too loud, so I switched to LED, and glad I did.

I plan on getting a 5 x 10 tent, and running six 500 watt Blackstars. Probably later this year...

Yeahan I used to have a wallmount exhaust fan that moved 235 cfm but was wayyyyyy Yo loud so I got what I have now which I don't know what cfm it is. But I do kno it sucks. How long did it take you to receive your blackstars after you ordered them. I plan on ordering on this week coming up. And damn if you get 6 500s I will call u a Sicko. That will be a grow I want to watch!!!!!!

I think it took about 3 days for me to get mine. I'm just north of DC, so it didn't have too far to go in transit, they were shipped from NY.

I will be a sicko if I buy 6 panels @$500 each, I know HPS would be way cheaper, but I'm not fighting the heat from 2k watts of HID. Nor dealing with the loud fan noise.

Yeah man that is the way to go. You have already used the blackstar and you are happy with the performance. If you got the money why would you not go bigger an better?? What do you use for veg you LEDs. Or do you throw some cfl in there. If you do get all those panels you will be a Sicko/my hero. STAY HIGH BrO!!!

I use a 90 watt LED (from htg) for veg, then the 2 Blackstars for flower (each in their own cab), and 272 watts of CFL for flower in one more cab.

The 6Xs Blackstar will definitely be an expensive project... I smoke enough, so it wont be a bad investment.
