will the little 4 pint peltier/tec dehumidifiers be powerful enough to keep a 4x4 tent full of wet buds around 62% RH or under? like one of these: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Portable-4-Pint-1-Speed-Automatic-Shut-Off-Compact-Small-Electric-Dehumidifier/232036472671?epid=1501272765&hash=item360673975f:g:ZqkAAOSw3xJXoO-e

I plan on using a humidistat to control a humidifier and dehumidifier in a 4x4 tent for my curing and drying needs. the plan is for it to keep a target RH of 62-63%.

For humidifying needs i will use a HOH single head 20mm fogger in a bucket.

that depends on your environment, rh, temperatures, bud weight etc.
I utilize a small humidifier in my dry tent and a large dehumidifier in the room its in.

the tent will be in the basement. its constantly about 55f-60f and RH between 60-70%

I built a multi-tiered drying rack system out of PVC pipe and plastic bird netting inside the tent with a 16" fan in the middle bottom blowing strait up on low speed.

I usually harvest between 10-20lbs (dried weight) over the course of 2 weeks (i spread out my chopping)

maybe 2 or 3 of them, i doubt one will be enough. i have a small one similar to those and there's no way it could keep up to that. mine will only fill its res about 3/4 in a day.
also, i'd aim the fan at the wall, having moving air is enough, air blowing directly on your weed will dry it too fast

hrm i might set everything up and do a dry run for a few weeks before i cut anything down. test how high the RH gets without any load in it then i will pick up a dehuey based on what the rh remains inside.

i plan on keeping it sealed up. no venting so the only rh load the dehuey will have on it will be that of the plants as they release their own water vapor as they dry.

i don't grow as much as you do, but i've had a perpetual for a couple of years. i have a 32x32x60 tent i use to dry in. i have a small phresh filter hooked to a 4 inch booster fan, hooked to a timer so it runs for 15 minutes an hour, venting the whole tent. no other fan in the tent.
then i have a small cool mist humidifier hooked to a humidistat that keeps the RH at 65%. no need for a dehu in my small set up.
my house is built into a hillside, and it wants to stay humid all the time, RH would climb to 75%+ if i let it, so i run a big dehu in the house, keeping it around 40%.
any way you can run a hose from your dehu to a drain? you can just set your humidistat where you want it and then ignore it if you don't have to empty the tanks daily.

ya i have a gravity drain down in the basement i can run the discharge water to. the air around the tent will generally be 60-75% RH so a humidifier and dehuey will def be necessary to maintain 62-63 rh. i was just hoping the small 4 pint units would be able to lower the humidity withing the tent enough to keep stable.

space wise one should be more than enough, but when you're moving at least of 5 lbs of wet product through it a week...then i'd at least go with two of those. the peltier units are nice, and a lot more efficient than the conventional ones, until you get into anything over half a gallon size...then they just can't keep up

eh. i think im going to scoop up a refurb 30 pint compressor unit on ebay. the lowest wattage unit i can find so it doesnt introduce too much heat... theres a refurb unit now for 110.00 shipped and for 30 bucks extra ill get the 2 year square trade warranty... POWER INPUT 350W, OPERATING CURRENT 3.1A

i dont really want to experiment with the small peltier units and have my goodies get messed up lol.

they do produce a little heat, the big one i have running in the house is in the bathroom, which is about 4x6. it raises the temp of the bathroom a good 5 degrees when it's running

ill have a little 4x12 carbon scrubber and inline fan set to vent out of the tent when temp reaches 65f or so. the basement is constantly around 55-60f this should keep temps below 65f and ill shoot the humidity controls to maintain maybe 63-65rh

Trying to design new rack system. Let me know what you guys think...

The first design will be easier to slide in and stack them. It's about 50 bucks more in pvc parts to build

The second design has legs that fit into the shelf below so it won't just slide into place they will more or less lift up about an inch and interlock into the rack below.
