5 weeks into flower and I have about 50% red tricomes

Hi, I am about 5 weeks into flower but I ALREADY have about 50% red hairs... The buds are not as large as I would like them to be. I would like to hold off another 2 - 3 weeks but I don't want to loose quality. Its only 5 weeks in I should have at least 3 more weeks but the girls are showing me their almost ready. Has anyone had 50% red hairs and still had weeks to go before she was mature? Should I harvest NOW? Ideas. Thanks guys and gals!

I speak only from pictures, no actual experience(yet), but are you referring to trichomes on the buds/leaves being 50% amber? or you mean the hairs are 50% red? I have seen people say that the red hairs colors can be strain specific. I know that 50% amber trichomes is a good harvesting time, but the red hairs are different.

Now do you have 50% red hairs or 50% red trics? If you met hairs then you need to check the trics with scope. I wouldn't harvest before the trics were half cloudy and half amber at the very least.

No. Thr trics are the crystal looking stuff on the bud. It is where the resign glands secreet THC

I;m @ same stage as you bro, and I'm not to worried looks great to see em develop! The trichomes are little hairs all over the bud and leaves, on the tips of those hairs are little balls of resin you need a scope to see the maturity of these resin glands, for proper harvest time, And you can see them with the eye. looks like white fur...

You have a good few weeks to go yet. They will fatten up over the next 3-4 weeks and probably won't be ready for at least 4 weeks.

hey my plant is about 3 foot tall n has been flowerin for bout 4weeks but there is no bud. there is hairs they came out white but now r almost all red n no bud what is happening n what do i do?

splatter , was just thinkin like you the other day , my hairs are startin to turn red at 3 weeks, is this what yours looked like a few weeks ago?

thought i burned them at first, then thought it was maturing early. So i got me one of these

no mine has absolutly no bud just hairs n they r all almost red

hose are the pistols not the trichomes. you need a magnifier to check your trichs untill your experienced enough to tell without. heres an example for you. and a link to the magnifier i use. works great, and its cheap.
