i have 4 plants in there 5th week of flowering at moment all the same strain (ice) and 1 seems like its almost ready to harvest. most buds on this plant are 50/50 red to white hairs and the funny thing is its half the size of all my others and seems the most chronic. just wondering wat ppl think is happening.
the smaller plant only got taken over in size when i put them in flowering and all look identical except for size, and they are all sativa.

Give it 8 weeks anyway I recon ... I've had AK phenotypes that finish in 6-7 weeks, some phenos are just like that. Usually they can handle another couple weeks anyway, just adds a little to yield and gives time for more THC production, although because the Cannabinoids become quite mature, the stone/high does tend to become more of a narcotic stone than a cerebral high, but still good smoke!

Cheers.

It doesn't look ready to me, but well on the way.
Give it another 3 or 4 weeks, you wont regret it.

Yeah give it three more weeks of flowering and see what happens, it might be ready by then. go for 70% amber colored crystals/trichomes and itll be ready to cut and cure...

I have the same issue going on right now with aurora indica. 1 looks close to done and the other looks like it should at the 5th week. more mature 1 is smaller also....

thing is i have clones of each that i was planning on making 1 mother out of and i cant decide which to keep. i mean the mother of my little weed babies is kind of a big deal

anyway, radio shack used to sell a small microscooe for 10 dollars that was perfect for looking at the THC cystals. grab one and check your plant, by far the best way to know when to end the grow.

smaller plants can tend to finish earlier,up to you when crop, will still be good smoke just less of it.why dont you try a small bud and see.

dont go by the hairs.....My indica strain the hairs will turn red after 5 weeks.....then the bud starts to pod out and it produces more white hairs it finishes about 4 weeks later.

Look at the trichomes on the plant itself.... depending on if you want a head high or the couchlock high.....this chart will help you

..................................Anyone who grows should buy one of these microscopes...they are available at radio shack $13........................................

I did not read all the messages in the thread so this has most likely already been said but pay no attention to the man behind the curtain … errrrr .. I mean pay no attention to the color of the hairs. Go by the trichs and the trichs alone. That is the only way to know when your plants are ready to harvest and even then to some degree it will depend on your personal preference in a buzz.

If you harvest when your trichs are all milky you will get more of a head high, or at least as much of a head high as your genetics can produce under the best of conditions, you cannot ever go beyond a plants genetic capabilities. If you wait until your trichs are amber you will get more of a couch lock high and a lower ceiling when it comes to a head high.

Now there are limitations to that in that you cannot take an indica and harvest it when the trichs are milky and get a major ceiling-less sativa head high and you cannot take a sativa and harvest when the trichs are amber and get a heavy indica body/couch lock buzz but you can fine tune the buzz you get according to your preference by taking/harvesting your plants at different times.

So go by the trichs and the trichs alone and only look at the hairs to say pretty, pretty, look what beautiful plants I grew and nothing more.

OMG Messycan - that's one gorgeous plant! Do you have any larger pics of that, perhaps something that would fill most of my 24" monitor?
