I am going on week 5 veg( 18/6) from seed AK48 all girls. I was wondering if it would be a good time to switch over to 12/12 after week 5. I want to get the best yield possible. Any suggestions?

From my understanding you can keep a plant in veg stage for months, treating it as a mother plant, cloning it, and growing it bigger. You control when it starts to flower by switching over to the 12/12 light cycle. If im wrong some one feel free to correct me.

5 weeks vegatation is plenty of time for the plant to reach full maturity. However , you can go on and on.

too long, how tall are they now ? they will grow another 1/3rd at least while in flower, if your cramped on space, pinch, or top them to cut off the extra growth. if you do this wait a little bit b4 you flower. that way the plant can have time to recoup from the "injury". also how's the structure of the plant look? do you have one main branch or did u top it already. if you only have one main branch in the middle, you can top the plant for 2 upwards of 4 main branches , which will help your yield alot !

Topping just sometimes splits the main cola into multiple cola's of less weight with some strains , and not all strains grow so much after putting into 12/12 , plants do have a vegative hieght limit on some strains also.

Is it true the longer you veg, the more yield you will get?
Of course, with intelligent pruning, you can grow a plant to twice your height, and the bigger the plant, the greater the yield. Why do you think seed companies advertise such large amounts for outdoor grows?

About a week to 2 will take care of it. You really have to pay attention to the branches and the new shoots. When they start shooting up again, then your grow has resumed. Topping them like that almost seems to put them in slow motion for a few days.

This depends on plant, and growing conditions. Growing outside, sure. Growing inside, it all depends on the strain. Some produce better depending on how you trim them, and there are so many options, cut off all the branches and let the main stalk bud up, top and let multiple tops come up, lollipopping. You'll just have to do it one at a time until you dial in what works best for your grow and plants.

I have 4 plants right now that are 8 weeks from clone ready to flower that fill my 6x10 scrog full. 5 weeks under what light? how big are they. do you have room to go bigger? mine are 6ft tall when they are ready to harvest with 18'' colas so you decide if you are ready to flower. but remember PATIENCE is the key to a big yield!!!!!!!

This is truth. If you're willing to have a 3 month veg time in order to bush your plant out (and scrogging can get intense, especially if you weave as it grows) then your yield will definitely show that it was worth the effort.

Well I have 5 plants in a 4'x4'x6.5 mylar tent under a 600w metal halide for veg. I'm letting 2 grow naturally and I have topped the other three twice already and the new growth is coming in veryyy fast. i have some very healthy plants. They're starting to bush out just like I wanted them to. I think I'll wait another week then put them into flower. I'm very happy with the growth as this is my first grow. I just want to get the best outcome when harvest comes. Thats why I'm doing 3 that are topped and 2 grown naturally. I will lollipop them when they start to bud so the main energy is towards the bud growth instead of useless bottom branches that won't yield anything. I'm just debating on what Nutrient I can go with such as Big Bd or Bud Candy so I can have full big and fluffy buds.

budda bloom is what i use alon with the full aurora line of nuts and i am very satisfied. why do you want fluffy buds? most people want them to grow big and get dense and rock hard like mine do . yes cutting all the lower branches off will help focus the energy to the tops so definitly do that. best of luck

In my experience, miracle grow has nutrients set to release over courses of time ranging up to 6 months. You dont want that when you reach harvesting time. You want to be able to flush the plants of all nutes before harvesting.
Just a tip that helps with taste and other things
