6 inch tall but 14 inch diameter

Hi folk, I have 1 plant going, it's one week into 12/12 and has been super cropped, lst'd and pinned down around the pot so now 6inch tall but 14-16 inch in diameter.

My question is if I should place a screen (I have a plastic mesh) at this level or should I set it nearer 12 Inch? Unsure if setting it low and spreading all my branches almost straight out or should let them grow a bit.

It has started showing hairs so all going well.

Sativa or Indica, light size, screen size? The stretch that is about to happen will vary quite a lot strain to strain, light size and other factors will play an effect as well. It's kind of hard to say, it's part of the learning curve when beginning a new growing setup like that. I personally start my screen really low so that I can begin training ASAP, and then I raise my screen if necessary. Aim to have at least 8" of bud above the net when done.

Sativa dom (blue dream)
400w in cool tube
Growing in SMALL scale. 22in x 33in.

I was planning on fitting the screen so not to move it but might need to change my idea's.

I wouldn't suggest a scrog at all typically you chopp off everything below the screen as it won't be getting much light that and you fit the screen prior to flower and train the plant into the screen then when it's about 60 to 70% full you switch to flower and continue to train it into the screen thus insuring a full screen.

You jumped the gun on this grow you don't typically super crop or lst when you're doing a scrog you just let it grow up into the screen force back through and continue until it's about full then flower

I would just keep lsting it until the plant starts to get woody stems and let it finish. The reason you want twelve inches between your container and screen is for air flow if you wanted to use a large hole screen say six inch by six inch holes for support that would be fine but your typical scrog screen I would not use

The super crop LST will get you the results you were looking for anyway... basically, it's that OR SCROG, as shake&bake said... both looking for similar results (I imagine SCROG got popular because LST can be more work, and maybe even developed om it for the same reason... that's how I came up with it, before I found out it was already a thing)

As he also stated, air flow is crucial. Without it any humidity issue will become a wet spot and mold/rot will creep in. Guaranteed. This is true even when you are not SCROGing and you think you have a low humidity... because ambient it may be "low", but it's high in and around the plant (two buds pressing against each other can easily lead to rot in any grow)... I can't even use SCROG due to my humidity... so sad...

My humidity is extremely dry and temperature is hitting 100 at times. Nothing I can do it cause no room, only one plant and I'm in week 6. Also over fed so lost a lot of leafs. Poor girl still has many tops and as a result I have several solid tops.
