6" or 8" Cooltube? +rep

I am looking to order the 600w switchable HPS/MH ballast with a 6" Cooltube reflector. However, i realized the MH bulbs are a little wide. Will wide MH bulbs even fit in a 6" Cooltube? If so, do they restrict air flor at all? Do the 8" Cooltubes give better air flow and cooling, even with an HPS bulb in them?

I am going to be using a 6" inline fan(435cfm) so i would like to use the 6" reflector, but i could always get a 6" to 8" converter.

+rep for good answers :bigjoint:

Personally I think MH lamps are a waste of money anyways. HPS lamps offer a greater spectrum which is closer to the sun, MH lamps are in my opinion under powered and don't offer a wide enough spectrum for maximizing your plants potential. Go 6" cool tube w/ a 600 watt HPS for veg and bloom. Saves you $$$ and is better for your plants in the long run. HPS bulbs also come in full spectrum which will be even better!

i have 6in cooltubes, i use switchable set up.mh/hps depending on what stage im at. i dont know if a regular mh bulb fits, i use a hortilux blue (mt400d) for vegging. its almost as narrow as my 1000watt hps bulb which fits in my 6in tube.

The bigger the are in the tube the less heat your light builds up.My 6 inch tube was too small for my 600s they got too hot in that little space.Id use the 8 inch tube. That internal heat is what blows bulbs premature..peace

From a big picture standpoint,

I would say get the 8" incase you upgrade later and need more air flow for temp. Go big or go home is my policy. But again, if you know your never going to a 1000w then stay with the 6" and reserve the cash for the duct reducers.

Plus duct reducers fit like shoes; Every brand fits differently. ( some just don't freaking fit!)

Just checked out your site. It appears you only have like 4 products. Plus I checked your sites registration out and it's only registered for one year starting june this year and your "Companies" information is not publicly listed.

And you do not have a privacy policy.

This all points to shady bro.

i have nothing to hide i am just trying to start a legitament business from one of my hobbies, you dont have to trust me but i would like to earn your respect
I would recommend you get a PO Box and a business phoneline. Then Change Your Domain Registration Info to your Business name along with contact name, phone and po box.

This will help legitimize your online presence. I am a web developer myself so if you need any assistance I am glad to help.

I am not knocking you and your site, but those who run away after being challenged generally are the crooks.

Congrats on the new businesses and I wish you best of luck.
