So here is my set up

400w HPS
Soil mixture 40%perlite40%soil20%peat moss
temps 84F
water ph 6
nutes feeding once a week with 30-10-10 started full strength and also a b1 mixture every other week

so I started nutes full strength last Friday. I had to leave town until Monday and came back to one of my plants with three fan leaves like this

The leaves are yellowing pretty bad. Some one told me its a nitrogen deficiency but i figured maybe someone could give me some more input on this

...since u've been feeding that leads me to believe ur ph is off. Whats the ph of the soil?
I dont have anything to test the soil with. I dont live in the u.s. and ive checked everywhere for a soil testing kit. I tested the run off today and the ph was 6.5

I am using the paper testing strips.

Flush the plants through with just water set at 5.0/5.5 flush them till the water runs clean.it is more important to keep tabs on the ph of the water and nutrients that are been fed to the plant the soil ph is not that important unless you are growing for the cannabis cup.this plant is showing classic salt build up and how are you feeding them, you realy should be feeding twice a week max soak the plants through when you feed.i would say that you are feeding on a far regular basis than this the one thing is it looks has though you have had the light near and have nice tight internodes.i would have gone for a little less perlite 70% compost with no feed in just compost cut the peat out.cut the feeding down to 2 times a week and flush the plants on aregular basis and you will be fine.the plant may be rootbound has well get it in a bigger tug this will give the roots more room. But plants this old should be in the flowering room make them work for the feed they willsend roots all over searching for water if you feed right if not they become prematurely root bound this can stump growth. Also check the ph each feed because it can change if you are makeing it in batches. This is the good thing about feeding 2 times a week put your finger in the top 3 ince of soil even if it is boan dry there will still be moisture lower down but when the top 3 ince is dry this is the key to water.Flushing the plants is one of the major factors in growing a good plant i flush 3 times during veg and 4 times during flowering.hope this help you out be lucky.

I agree, you've got a nutrient lockout. Those paper test strips don't work that well. If that's a homemade soil mix you need to add limestone &/or bonemeal to counteract the acidity of the Peatmoss

thanks for the input guys. I am going to flush my plants tomorrow. I am waiting on my new ballast to put them into flowering. I will hopefully get it tomorrow. I will also add some limestone (the best i can get here is chalk, I have read that it works fine). I was starting to get really worried about this and hope that everything will work out.

Cheers guys.
