So my buddy grabbed some perlite and vermiculite the other day, for his grow. Think I am gonna get a little of each off of him, and do a mix in the fogger pots. Give the roots something a little more than hydroton to grow in. hopefully they will get a thicker root ball that way... just sitting here thinking about them... anxious to see sprouts in the next day or two... also thinking about Y'ing the fogger reservoir, and making a mother chamber out of a converted entertainment stand... since i have all those other seeds, and there is sooo much fog going into the other unit. The only issue would be, it's wood... and that would be a lot of moisture for wood.

Hey, nice looking setup. Just curious about your ozone generator, how well would you say it works? Do you literally have no smell? I'm thinking about purchasing one because a carbon filter just isn't cutting it.

Oh man, I LOVE my OZN-1. I had the OZN-Jr inside the tent for a grow... but it only lasted about 3 months, and then died. The company let me find a local retailer, and credited me the price of the jr, on the upgrade to the OZN-1. It literally works too well. I have to have a window fan going part time, or a timer on the OZN... within seconds it attacks smells. I can smoke a cigerette in the room, come back in 2 mins after leaving, and smell nothing but ozone. definately needs to be vented, or timered... but there is NO smell.

Ok, so I was sitting there with a buddy, talkin about the grow... showin him what's what... and decided since my organic plants are just extras anyways, and only just now all three are showing female... I decided to clone them.

I only clones 2 plants, the other I didn't see anything I wanted to cut. I labelled them... (1) and (2)... and took a few cuttings from each. (5 total from (2) and 2 total from (1)

Anyways... used the pool tubes again... some Clonex, and some cuttings... some Hydroton, and away we go... so here are some pics... let's see how these do. I really just want to see how it works no matter what, they will be transplanted, and probably become mothers.

I peeked in on the seeds, and they should be sprouts within a day or two.

You need to mist and cover those clones...
They are wilting from lack of humidity or air embolisms...
If its from air embolism, then you need to take it out and make a new cut under water or submerge the cut in water immediately after making it

I have them covered, the fog does a good job of misting them, but i hit em with a mist anyways... those pics were within minutes of getting them in there, so they were a little shocked... we'll see how they do tomorrow... I have the fogger on 24/7 now... just because I know it needs the extra humidity... and I lowered my light to 18 inches above the canopy. we'll see... it should only be a day or two before we see what happens with both the seeds and the clones.

Ok, so here is my update for this week. I still have 3 organic plants from bag seed. I named them 1, 2, and 3. I took clones from 1 and 3, one of each, and they took... I'll check the root balls on them in a day or two.

I received a transplant from a friend. He was growing in a Ebb and Flow open system, with a 250 watt MH only inches from the tops. The plant is exactly the same age as my organic plants, since it was planted the same day... it is almost as mature... very tiny plant tho... but it has been stressed enough that it should bush out just fine now in the new system. It has been in there a few days, and the color is getting to be normal on that one. I've trimmed out a bit of its lower growth, and now, just lettin her grow.

My Durban Poison and Super Lemon Haze have sprouted, just yesterday. So that is good news. The Hollands Hope hasn't popped up yet, but I moved around the perlite vermiculite mix, and it has a tail... just growin slow.

I am really impressed with plant 3, and its bud growth. It looks VERY promising. I don't have a clue what strains those organic plants are... but I am naming her Miss Anonymous. The other two... well we'll see.

I also have my Bonzai tree in there... it has been through hell with me... just did another leaf drop and grow *this happens every few months for me, it drops it's leaves, and then EVERYTHING grows up new again* I don't know if its really normal, but it is normal for that plant. I have been weaving its branches, and stuff... it's pretty fun.

Ummm... other than that... the plants... they grow...IMG_5269.jpg

BTW, those clones are not the original clones I had in there... made those one from bigger branches. in this system, I do not have to cover them... as you can see those clones are not covered. Enough fog is in that unit, it keeps them growing, and hydrated. I also have been adding about 1/4 cup of my water / nutrient mix to each pot. Just 1/2 strength General Hydroponic's brand three part nutrients, a little calmag, and some super thrive.

Basically, the foggers do their job, but just in case I am not getting a lot of nutrient to the plant sites, they get a little fed directly to their pots. Most of it will drain away, but hopefully it will be enough to keep them fed.

Sooo.... the Hollands Hope seed died. It had a 1/2 inch tail yesterday... peeked in on it today... tail was shrivelled... inside of seed was brown. Sooo... I planted a new Holland's Hope today... we'll see how this one goes.

Ok, I have to post this. I posted the other day that i had my foggers on a timer. I am now running them on 24/7... just in the few hours of darkness that the foggers weren't running, I had a serious amount of drying to the roots of the transplant. i'll take some pics... but now... the foggers are on 24/7.

That would explain the holland hope problem
Good thing you caught it...

As you can see, here are some before and afters of the roots... that's why I am glad everything else has perlite / vermiculite mix... it retains a lot more than just plain old hydroton.

So, today I decided to do a little bit of a trim on the organic plants, large fan leave that already have good branch growth, got taken out... large fan leaves that support bud sites, got trimmed to allow light penetration. Well, while I was taking the three out one by one... I noticed that #1 looked real thin after the trimming... not gonna yield much off that one... didn't expect to. I was betting on #2, she had soo many bud sites on her. Pulled #2 out of the cab, started trimming... got towards the middle... OH SNEAKY SNEAKY. Little bitch wasn't a bitch. She was a he/she acting like a she/she. I was upset.

IMG_5314.jpg

IMG_5313.jpg

Chopped it down... had to happen. Moved on to #3... and was relieved. Lots of bud sites, after trimming it still looked pretty full. So... I took out the clone from #2... it actually had roots started... so the clone from #3 should do well.

Still no sprout from Hollands Hope #2... but I am not giving up hope, and also not gonna dig and look. Resisting the urge.

This takes my plant count from 9 to 7 now... 8 with the bonzai... and now I am not feeling like it is going to be quite as crowded. no, it is still 9... because I have my Porthos on top of the cab, with the long ass motha fuckin vines draped inside the cab, and above everything... I'll get more pics up tomorrow... when everything gets over being moved around and stressed.

So after that let down with the #2 plant, I am thankful that I still have the two in flower. I cloned #1, to replace the clone of #2 that is gone now... no sense keeping the hermi genetics around. Was a decent sized clone, so I should see no problems with her. The clone that I took out actually had a decent root system starting... so I think I'll be alright.

I got bored and tied down the tranny transplant. It is @ a 20-30 degree angle from straight... and the lower growth is really starting to come through. Took a peek @ the roots on it (still don't know) and they look healthy again today. All in all, I am not seeing explosive growth with the fogponics, but it makes cloning super simple, and is pretty easy to maintain. Tomorrow I am going to clean out the fogger discs, I think I noticed a bit of build up on them today.

Quick Update : 12/5

Lights turned on this morning, and KAPOW! I have a Hollands Hope sprout! It's just peakin above the perlite/vermiculite this morning, I am sure it will be standing by the end of the day. That makes daddy happy.

So now I have a Hollands Hope, Durban Poison and Super Lemon Haze sprout... a transplant of unknown origin... and 2 clones in the fogger unit. I also have the two organic bagseed grows, (one of each clone from each of the organics) which I am callling Miss Anonymous, and UnderDog 1.0. I'll pop some pics in a few hours when everything gets more awake... including me.

Well, here is a picture update. Somehow, pictures just don't do them justice at this point... or maybe it's just my camera, and the limited view points I can get the pics at... eh... well here it is.

The plant with the great lookin buds is Miss Anonymous... she smells like freshly cut lawn, but I feel she'll look amazing. The other one with buds, but more whispy is UnderDog. I named them from bagseed, so sue me. Miss Anonymous is 12 days flowering, and UnderDog is 9 days flowering. *from the first hairs seen*

The clones are doing well... and Tranny is showing some good new growth in the fog unit. Hollands Hope has sprouted, and Durban Poison, and Super Lemon Haze are still looking good. they are about a week old.
