Hello,

Looking at redesigning my room I am fairly experienced done research on this can't seem to find
anything. In regards to grow area for one or more lights.. Info seems to focus on biggest area for
certain light eg 600w = max 5x5 foot area.. what about the other way around? whats the smallest
footprint you can have for 600w.. everyone says to add more light.. so why is no one filling a room
full of lights and just jamming the hoods up against each other so when you look up all you see
are hoods and no ceiling?.. and one plant under each hood and all the light crossing over each
other this would be plenty more light..?

I'm obviously missing something

Thanks :)

I like to light the whole space rather than a footprint when I’m using multiple lights,I find I get more uniform buds and overall a better yield and quality. The max space I’d use a 600 for would be 4x4 but really a 3x3 is about the footprint

Do you know why most people are still spreading out the lights when using multiple lights.. Wouldn't it
be better to do the 3x3 area and use a smaller space/room?.. Even the commercial grower pics the lights are'nt
too close together and the rooms are huge.

Most commercial guys are using double ended hps fittings. A lot of the grow houses you see busted over here use chinamans hat reflectors that are tightly spaced with vert 600w globes.

people say a 600 is about perfect for a 4 x 4 tent. But don't forget we need to put stuff in the tent that take up room. Humidifiers, dehumidifiers, heaters, ac, fans etc, Sure some of that can be put up high but theirs only so much space up there and it can get hot up there to. When running pots its not a big deal as we can shuffle and turn plants and make use of the available light equally. In a scrog not so much. The canopy space is dedicated.

You can use a large space per light in veg. When flowering you really need a decent light footprint. In saying that any buds in any overlap is still weight. And adds up.

Multiple light sources, all that stray light that gets lost on walls ends up on plants instead. Makes the most out of the inverse square law, get less shading on lower bud sites.
