temp has been staying at around 95-100 deg. while in the light period and about 75 in the dark with the door closed. how crucial is it to the temp lowered during the light period? as i cant keep the closet door open all the time like i would like to

growth will seriously stagnate at those temps. you need to extract the air outside and bring in some cool air. does your set-up allow for that?

Right now with the door open im sittin at 79deg.

I have a 6in outlet with a 250cfm can fan i got at homedepo sucking air out. other than that there is no where fresh air can come in, its a fairly well sealed room with the plastic up.

im going to put a slice in the plastic in the far low end of the closet to see if i cant draw fresh air through there.

think about it. if you have a sealed room with no passive vents and you have an extraction fan - where is the replacement air going to come from? Obviously you aren't going to have a full vacuum in the room but airflow will be compromised. get yourself a passive vent in their, preferable opposite the extraction so you have good air movement. is it cold where you are? can you bring in outside air using a flexible dryer vent hose?

I understand, the thing is is that i put a vent in the only place possible and used it for outgoing air. The reason the room is sealed is because this is a stealth grow that I'm trying to keep from my room mates and the stench of a garden underneath the stairs would definitely be a give away.

Its very cold where i am, the high today being 7deg. With the closet being underneath the stairs its hard to find a place to run in fresh air. the best i can do is cut an inlet to the interior wall to draw through there.

Now I've since rearranged the room a little cooling the bulb more and in the past day the high was 81.7 deg.

Thanks again

everything has been going a lot smoother now. would still like to see the temp down a little (current 85deg). the humidity has been at 25% maybe a bit low. as for PH i've never tested it. i really need to get my typically half baked ass to wal-mart and get a tester.

i'm pretty sure your right when you say its nute burn but it seems like they are pulling through and looking alot better now. the npk i found on the net for it was 0,21% N, 0,07% P, and 0,14% K

I transplanted into my 5gal bucket and used all organic nutes an soil so this should help.

here are some updated pics.

Got my hood up and transplanted

pretty sure this one is diformed from the OD on nutes.. be interesting on how it turns out

one of my better looking plants

another one

looking alot better now as you can see.. and by the way non of the seeds i planted were sex'd so im excited to see how many turn out to be females.

Hopefully in a few weeks ill be able to get a nice inline fan to help cool the room more

i think im gunna experament with tossin a earth worm or two in each bucket

let me know what ya guys think

:weed:

thanks again

tested my watering water today, came out to be 7.6+ (maxed my scale out).

how do i test my soil with a test tube and the ph testing drops?

heh, well thats fine though cuz if the PH is ever 7.6 then you know you know already that it is too high and needs to be lowered (preferebly to about 6.5).
It is critical to get the air flow right in this kind of setup.. bite the bullet and create a new hole in the space to allow fresh air to enter the grow room then blow out via the outlet.
You can get a CO2 scrubber to fit onto the air blower (exhaust) to keep the smell under control. I would direct that small fan right onto the 600W bulb itself and then get another tall oscillating fan to blow air right over the canopy of the plants.. good luck!

im planning on ordering a 6 inch round duct Fan - 293/218 cfm from http://www.hvacquick.com/spfnconfig.php?fm=td putting a scrubber on it in addition to hopefully cooling the room more.

would i be able to use a c02 tank as a substitute for a fresh air inlet? or is there anything else i could do? because it would be a big inconvenience to cut another hole in the wall 8inches away from my current one to just draw the air back in. that would be the only place possible to put it and i would still have to disguise the inlet.

keep adding drops of vinegar until the ph is 6.5

cut your hole on the other side of the room so the fresh air draws across your garden. you need an intake.

that back wall is actually concert, than the other wall is the interior of the wall my bed lies against and the corner.

ill figure out something...
