600w HPS/MH Closet_White Widow, Wonder Woman, Sour Diesel. LST and Top

Hey there RIU, I'm now able to smoke on the sweet nugs of my last grow and I'm ready to start yet another, but This time the plans are to go , much bigger with some much needed additions...

• Bigger Lights, Taller grow room, bigger pots, better air stones plus I plan to LST and Top the plants. - Going for the Gold this Time.

So sit back, get comfortable and prepare to go on a journey following my plants from seedling to harvest. Conversation and advice isn't only welcomed... It's Encouraged!

1 - fem White Widow (Soil)
1 - reg Sour Diesel (Soil)
1 - fem Wonder Woman (DWC Hydro)
1 - reg Sour Diesel*
*(will be used as a backup if other SD is male, the plan is to only actually grow 3 plants)
Room:
Bedroom Closet - Big Enough for 4 plants max

Lights:
Radiant 6" air cooled reflector
600W Lumatek Dimmable electronic ballast
600W PlantMax HPS for flowering and 600w MH for veg
30w CFLS will be hung in areas where more light is needed, as needed.

Nutrients:
Fox Farm Big Bloom
Fox Farm Tiger Bloom
Fox Farm Grow Big - Hydro & Soil formulas

Soil:
Currently - Scotts Premium Potting Soil
Transplant - Fox Farm Ocean somethin somethin soil


As of right now I have a white widow and Sour Diesel already growing and I have Wonder Woman and other Sour D in germination.
These upgrades* are still a "work in progress" but I will have it complete within 1 - 2 weeks and will post pics when I am done. For Now I will post pics of the 2 I have going.

* Hanging Ballast and Reflector, Run Ventilation ductwork, and get bigger hydro/soil pots

Hey everyone.. Today I finally got the reflector and ballast hung and wired up! I also have hung 6" ducting to vent it with currently 1 inline booster fan but plan to add another.

I currently have the MH bulb and what a difference! CFLs just don't even compare to MH! I'm going to have to play around with the ventilation to get the maximum amount of cooling...Havent tried the hps just yet.

Also got some pics of the ready to sprout up wonder woman and sour diesel plus the white widow and other SD in their new home! Bigger pots for the soil plants come next!

Hey all!
So I officially have the new grow light with duct work up and running. Currently the intake duct fan is bringing in air directly out of the ac keeping the room around 78deg, which I am proud to get considering it's 108deg almost everyday here. I plan to add another inline duct fan for the exhaust part of the duct.

Al in all I have 4 healthy looking plants currently going. White Widow and Sour Diesel are the furthest along and will get their first dose of LST training on Thursday, today they go to bigger pots.

The Other sour diesel I had planned for hydro is now a soil plan. I know the wonder woman is going to be female so I didn't want to take the risk of it being male in hydro, just easier to kill in soil if it is.

I am in need of a better PH tester, anybody know some good reliable ones without breaking the bank?

8/18/2011 - Updates
So the Soil plants have now been transplanted to bigger pots, $5 well spent at walmart, and today they got their first dose of LST. Other than that they are officially under the 600w MH for 18hrs a day.

I have added another inline duct fan which is keeping it around 78 in the closet, but tomorrow I am going to vent the other duct outside so that should drop the temps to around 74.

They are now getting about 3/4full strength nutes and will begin full strength nutes next week probably.

Also, you may have noticed that I got the Deep Water Innovations Micro-Pore air diffuser up and running and the wonder woman is now in her final place. Hope it gets nice and strong!

the little plant in soil is the other sour diesel... if the other SD is female then it lives... if its male... it dies

9/2/2011 - The plants are all doing wonderful. The LST process is in full swing with the sour diesel and white widow. They are about halfway around their pots. On the hydro wonderwoman once the roots hit the water growth exploded! All the plants are now getting full nutrients with Fox Farm. Enjoy the pics

I got it from a seed I found in some colorado Sour D. Not 100% sure of who the breeder is. I know that the bud I got it out of was skunky as hell. The smell went right through the bag. haha


ON ANOTHER NOTE:

I will update tomorrow. Sorry I have been busy, the plants have gotten big! They just went into flowering as well!

10-13-2011 : Sorry everyone I know it has been a while since my last update, I've just been busy.

So much has taken place since you've seen the ladies! (yes, they all turned out female!)

In the past few weeks I have slowly switching them to 12/12 light scedule and switching their nutrients to contain more nutrients essential for flowering.

The Soil plants are now into even BIGGER pots than you see in the last update, I believe 15" pots.

The Wonder Woman is HUGE and was topped about 3 weeks ago....
all the plants now have white hairs starting to form at all the bud sites.

10/22/11 - Whats up everybody! The plants are continuing to produce tons of white hairs and with the beginning signs of bud production! The plants are also just beginning to get trichomes on all the the smaller leaves. The plants already have a very intense smell, and I love it!

Lately my PH level has been rising to mid 6 levels and I am having to adjust about once or twice a week. Other than that all things are going well! The Wonder Woman in hydro drinks soo much now!.

Next week I plan to get some gallon jug containers and do some poor mans CO2.... cant wait to see the result... pics will follow

10/26/2011 - Hows it going everyone! Got another great update for you all! Not much change has really happened except for the bud sites have become more dense and the trichomes are really starting to develop now!

The wonderwoman(aka beast) plant in hydro has the tips of the top leaves curling up and starting to turn more pale. I think they were a little to close the the HPS light so I dropped that down about 11" today. I have gotten my ph under control , keeping it around 5.3 - 5.8

I have also just obtained some CAL-MAG from Botanicare which should help with some of the deficiency symptoms I am starting to notice.

I had the plants out of the closet to lower the main wonderwoman so the pics are a little more clear this time. I love those trichomes!

10/30/2011 - Hey everyone! Thanks for following the grow journal! (its always more fun with more people along for the ride)

So anyways the plants are still doing well! I have only added the first dose of cal mag and
I can already see more of the deep green color returning to some of the upper fan leaves. Other than that the vertical growth and started to slow down, as more energy is being focused on the bud!

I have lowered the plants about 10" (ish) from the lights which has helped some of the light and heat stress symptoms. Other than that not a whole lot going on, just doing its thing!

Cal-Mag.... so far the results have been great!
