Is it possible? Anyone tryed this? I dont wanna harm my girls, but can i veg with a 600HPS? And if so, how far would you recommend keeping the lights from the plants?

MANY people use HPS to veg & flower plants and get good results. As far as distance from the plant, use the hand above the plant method to gauge, meaning you place your hand above the plant and feel for heat, if your hand gets hot then its too close, move it up a little and try again.

As far as lighting you can throw a 6500k cfl or a couple side lighting of floros to give more light spectrum, but all in all you will be good!

HPS works good. I personally like it better than the MH.
However,,, 600w for seedlings may be a bit overkill and unnecessary expense.
Largely depends on setup.

Yes(veg+flower)and keep the temps to 75-80 and you should get a good harvest from the 600.

I have a 600W Blue Hort HPS that I plan to use from veg to flower. I'm limited on experience but I read a lot. I would agree than many do this.
