600w Indoor 4x4 Tent

Pictures aren't the greatest, took them in a rush I just got home from work and I gotta write up a paper for an 8 A.M. class tomorrow so this post is going to be very quick. Most pics are self explanatory on what strain. Uhm the biggest auto is going to be the AK-47. Next is the diesel ryder but I think that one is labeled.

Also new strategy on how I'm going to deal with the SCs. I'm going to veg them out the whole time while these autos do their thing at 18/6. I don't even know for sure the SCs are female. So I figure two might be if I'm lucky and I should be able to handle their size in the tent. Two are topped, two aren't. Push comes to shove I'll put them outside if they get too big to manage. I think this is best.

just shy of 300 hits and I can't get any convo going. SCs heights range from 12" to 17".

Things are looking good. Don't be discouraged due to the pack of posts, journals generally get ignored until you start to flower.

I would suggest getting in the habit of keeping a journal for your own sake. It is tremendously helpful down the road to be able to go back and know what you did when and to be able to compare methods. If you start to just journal for your own sake you don't so much realize the lack of others input and then suddenly receive it and it's a big bonus.

I def get that, but I guess I was also looking for people that had similar grows going on possibly further along in the grow for some comments. Oh well.

What size are those pots? rootbound?

Pots are 7 quart. I am not sure of the tell-signs for being rootbound so I am unsure. I know this is probably not ideal for the SCs, espeically since I am going to be vegging them until after the autos are done. I do expect to be transplanting into 5 gallon buckets at some point, I am not sure how to tell when the right time is. Open for suggestions/ways of telling if root bound.

Okay so I can't seem to find any real helpful info on this. Just exactly how important is humidity in a tent. And what levels are ideal if concern should be taken.

Also I wasn't going to use any nuts since this first time, but I am a little concerned with how big these SCs are going to be after another 5+ weeks (when the autos are done). I think maybe introducting them to some bushmaster (I think its called). Any ideas on this?

I've never used bushmaster but those plants will be pretty large if you veg while the autos finish up.

Some claim humidity to be a big deal but I personally haven't seen much difference between controlling humidity and not controlling it. Ideally it should be around 60% during veg and 40% during flower but it varies greatly by strain. I would say the most important thing is to keep up airflow during flowering so that high humidity doesn't lead to mildew and mold.

Thanks Tanker. yeah I am worried about their size. I figure its going to take 6 weeks to get those autos cleaned up. They don't seem to be growing as fast as I had expected with a 60-70 day harvest from seed. I can't even tell if my auto AK-47 is showing sex (damn the untrained eye) I keep hoping each day when I look something will be different and I'll be able to say "yep thats a female". No such luck and shes on day 23-24. I still feel that cleaning the autos up before putting the SCs into flower is going to be best.

I am going to be transplanting those SCs into 5 gal buckets but not exactly sure when the best time would be. I don't believe they are root bound since no roots are showing at the bottom of the pots. I used some gravel that you might find out in your driveway to line the bottom of the pots with and help with drainage and now I am wondering if its packed too tight for the roots to make it through and show me that the plant is root bound. On the plus side with the SCs ranging from 12-16 inches I think there will be enough room for the 4 once its just them in the tent, sex them and get rid of the males.

Short update. The auto AK-47 has 5 nodes now. I am not real sure if this is average size for just under a month. Seems like it should be a little further ahead. The auto Diesel Ryder which is atleast a week behind the AK-47 is catching up to it very quickly and will probably pass it in the next few days. Everything is looking good, working on something to get my other two autos raised up they are starting to stretch just after the two days they haven't been raised for.

Anyone else got some nice auto grows going? I'd love to compare some pictures to see if my plants really are behind.

Considering an auto grow. Will be here through the rest of your grow. As for root bound plants, I let my soil dry out nicely then lift the plant and do a search myself. If I feel it needs more space after looking at the roots, I transplant. I'll be doing a grow utilizing the same space and light as you, but they won't be autos, this time. Mine should start in a few weeks, until then I'll be here watching and giving any info. I can give. GOOD LUCK.

Thanks for joining me in this dutch. I do have 4 Strawberry Coughs going (not sure if you saw).

I think I will be dropping the lights from 18/6 down to 12/12 gradually over the next 3 weeks to induce the SC into flowering without causing too much discomfort for the autos. Gonna talk over the idea with a buddy of mine (originally given the idea by someone on another thread).

Feel free to post some updates once ya bust open some beans everyone. I never get tired of looking at plants.

Well good news folks. I go to look into my tent and what do I spy? Four of my autos started to flower, both diesel ryders, a sweet dwarf, and my oldest auto the AK 47. A couple more are pretty close I think but can't give a 100% for sure at the moment.

Did a little garden re-arrangement as well as shoved the A/C unit into the window as well. Temps have been peaking at 81. Too hot for my comfort. So I'll check here in a little but I'm sure the A/C unit is gonna get it back into range.

Lets see, also I did check out the SCs and they are close to becoming root bound. I will need to get a couple buckets and transplant them sometime this week.

Lights are cut back to 16/8.

I think that pretty much sums it up. Was rushed with some of the pictures. School is kicking my ass with finals beginning.

thanks dutch. I was def pumped when I looked in and finally saw some of my autos showing sex and beginning to flower. next weeks are going to be fun to watch not to mention I'll have something in a few weeks to puff on while I wait for the strawberry coughs to finish up.

For anyone watching this thread if I were to use one nut during flowering whats the one to go with? I'm shy to use nuts on this first grow simply because I don't have the time to properly do my homework involved with researching a full veg/flower nut line-up. I'm in fox farm ocean soil. Looking forward to seeing what people suggest. Also I am going to introduce some molasses at some point this week. If my memory serves me I think I read somewhere 1 TBSP per gallon of water. Is this correct and if so do I then need to pH my water and adjust it after adding?

Yes, I believe it's no more than 1-2 Tbsp. And yes, well, for me at least, I check the pH of everything I give to my girls. Adjust as needed.

Every watering/every other watering with the molasses?

I must be getting pretty lucky then with my H2O then. I've just been pulling it from the tap and letting it sit 24 hours to allow the chlorine (hate hate hate city water taste) and whatever to be expelled. Girls don't seem to dislike the water though. I'll have to pick up a pH tester this weekend. This is all about progress and not perfection from the start. Looked in on my temps last night still getting toward the higher end of my liking. Even with the A/C unit I slapped in. The little 120 cmf fan I got pushing air into the tent just doesn't seem to be getting the cooler air in, so I gotta look at -that- as well. I'm 79F and 80.1F on the two thermometers I got. I'm gonna try to get to that today after work or after class tomorrow. I moved my carbon filter and 440 cmf fan down under what the autos are sitting on, increasing the bends in the ducting by 1, I think this might be where I start to solve this problem. But I'm getting late for work. I'm hoping post-worthy pics thursday. We'll see if the girls agree.

I was also looking for 1 flowering nut in addition to the molasses. The molasses is simple enough I had thought about doing it when flowering starts anyways.
