Hello everybody! I want to wish everyone a merry christmas and/or whatever your religious holiday is, and extend a very warm welcome to my grow journal! This is my first HID grow, but my 3rd grow overall. My first two were hydro done w/ waterfarms and using T8 florescents from wal mart in wal mart ballasts in a home made rig
. I since have evolved far beyond, but using what I have learned from those first two grows, I now with much excitement present to you something I can be much more proud of.
So first, some specs:
Soil: Roots Organic Soil, with Great White in the soil hole before I put the Clones in. I forgot to mention, this is a closet grow, I'm in a space about 2.5x4.5, very strange to work with but I'm doing the best I can with what I have!
Nutes: Dynagro Protekt, Dynagro Grow and Bloom, and Dynagro MagPro(flower only). I have to give much thanks to homebrewer and his thread advanced nutrients vs dynagro for turning me on to these wonderful base nutrients. I am complimenting this base with GH Floralicious+, FloraBlend, The Other Tomato Organic All-Phase, and a microbial solution called 'Companion'. I came to this mix after using other nutes and experimenting with a couple of things.
I am still deciding whether I need to add a Zyme or not because I was told by one person that I should but I was told by another person (Both employees at the local hydro shop where I get my things) that the All-Phase I use already has zymes in it, so I don't need to. But once I find out once and for all, I have Hygrozyme I can use but I am actually considering replacing that with House and Gardens Multizym, as Hygrozyme is antibacterial and I have tons of beneficial bacteria in the all phase and the companion that I don't want to kill.
The details on the strain and its origin: Basically I went to my local trusted weed club, asked what clones they had in stock, they had OG Kush, so I got two of them. I topped after about 2 weeks and I also supercropped once and in some spots a 2nd time. I learned after doing so that it is possibly a better option to not top the plant if one wants to supercrop, but I'm still happy with what I have! Well, now that you know the details, on to some pics! Here are a couple of pictures of "The Other Tomato" that I had lying around on the PC, just so you get an idea of what it is, I don't think it's a very well known nutrient:

Here is about a week and some days before flipping into flower; I ran these girls on an 18 hour day cycle under 600W Metal Halide for over about 4.5-5 weeks I would say:

In one of the pictures you can see I accidently broke one of the main cola branches while super cropping, oops! It was my first time though, so I'm glad it only was one! Trust me, it only took one for me to learn not to do that again! Here is a day after I lowered cycle, see, I don't just flip into 12/12 one day, I actually reduce my cycle gradually to 12/12, so first I go to 17/7, 16/8, 15/9, 14/10, then 12/12, sort of to slightly mimic the shortening of the days I suppose. But yeah, these pics are I think when I had 14/10 cycle, the day before going into flower, so this is the official last of the veg period:
