600w x 4 indoor grow. 4 strains.

Well, I had a couple of problems over the past week. The humidity was very low, between 23%-35%. I believe this caused some upward leaf curl on the edges of the plants. I bought a shitty walmart humidifier and this brings the room to a little over 50%. I would like it to be higher, but I think I am out of the danger zone. I also observed a PH of 7.4 in the runoff from a watering about 5 days ago, I think my rockwool was not properly flushed after soaking. I had to move the plants at the same time to a room that was between 62F-72F and didn't have the MH, so they were under fluorescents for 56 hours. So my babies got a little stressed this past week. Even so, growth is good, and after a good flushing and feeding a 5.8 PH solution for the past 4 days the new growth looks good and the plants seem pretty happy. I put 6 of the plants in a DIY DWC rubbermaid tote on day 17. The other 12 will be put in DWC systems after I sleep and wake up. I bought a 110 Liter/Minute air pump but it was missing the fitting for the tube. I will pick one up when I wake up, I already made the systems-one more tote for 6 and the other 6 will go in 3.5 gallon buckets.

I still have not received the second order of seeds. It has now been 3 weeks since the first ones came. They were ordered 4 days after the first batch. They all were ordered from Hemp Depot. The first batch was very fast in terms of shipping.

Well, it seems as though the second batch of seeds was either lost or is taking a really long time. I have decided to just go ahead with the SLH and Church for now, if I get the seeds soon I might rethink some things, but at the moment they will be at least 3 1/2 weeks behind at this point. So, I am growing the 18 plants that I have right now large enough to take enough clones to fill 2 rooms in a vertical style PVC sog system. I will be going aeroponic with this. My plan is 2 6x7 rooms with 10 vertical PVC systems each holding 9 plants. So, 72 plants per room. I plan to grow these 18 plants big enough to take 12 clones each from them. There will be 2 600w HPS lights in a 48 inch cool tube per room. I will be flowering the clones as soon as they root, and the plants growing now will not see a flowering room. I plan to keep 2-3 clones of each plant in veg so that I can decide on mothers.

On another note, it seems like all my plants have recovered very well. Growth is very quick now. Leaf curl is nonexistent on new growth and there is no discoloration on anything, even the old growth has improved. Seems like I fixed everything just in time.

Things I learned

Rockwool must be flushed properly, soaking in 5.5Ph water is not enough. All I did was pour 5.6PH nute solution over the cubes until about 10% ran out. This is clearly not enough as I observed runoff at 7.4PH.

These things will not ruin your crop, keep an eye out for anything that looks not right and fix it as soon as possible. I think that keeping a close eye and troubleshooting immediately can keep a small problem from becoming something serious. 7 years off of growing makes one rusty. I now have everything under control and the plants are loving it. The one problem I am having is my reservoir temp at around 75F. I am freezing a couple 2L bottles of water to toss in every 12 hours or so for now. This should lower it to about 70F. I am guessing here, but I used the same idea to keep temps down in my fermenting buckets that I use for brewing beer. This has worked well. I will be buying a couple res coolers this week for precise control.

Humidity needs to be well over 30% for seedlings. I knew seedlings like about 70% RH, but I didn't think that a low huimidity would affect the plants as severely as it did, and I am glad that the community was able to answer my question immediately without having to post anything. A quick search was all it took.

I would like to thank RoseCityPapa for the idea of not building rooms from floor to ceiling. I have now decided to go with two rooms that will stand inside of my big room. Seems easier and cheaper.
