I don't think that the dark period b4 flower does anything but stress the plant out. def not necessary. Only reason i say that is cuz it dont happen in nature.
Dope doesn't grow in water in nature either. We do it all the time. It's call hydroponics. Most plants don't flower in december either. This is called indoor gardening. I'm here to tell ya it can be beneficial to go dark for up to 3 days prior to harvest.

This concept is based on the fact that our vegetables produce sugar at night as a natural sunscreen. Throughout the day this degrades. This is why you always harvest right at or before lights on. If you allow them more night time they will keep producing their sunscreen up to a point. That being said, If your plant is not in good health the positive results will be less. This is not based on my opinion it is what I have experienced thru several crops.

See my understanding was that when you put them into the dark just b4 harvest what it does is makes them work harder to reproduce and in return more trichomes being that they rely on them to catch the pollen its like a last ditch effort to reproduce but idk thanks for the info gunna have to give it a shot

I never wear sunscreen but i leave em in darkness for two days before the end. Just what i was taught. Only tried it twice. Couldnt tell ya if it worked or not. Im going to inquire about drowning the plants soon. Forced fermentation. Heard a little about it and im interested a little. It looks like a pain in the ass. Ill have to hear some pretty good stuff in order to try it but knowledge is power :):):)
