8 Day old Purple bagseed grow. Any suggestions? pictures

Hey, I have been growing in my closet for a couple of weeks and I now have one 8 day old seedling. I dont think anything is wrong with it but if you have any suggestions or advice, please let me know. I have been growing with an 18/6 light schedule under a 13w fluro which is equivalent to a 60w, I mist the soil and the seedling once a day, and i even have a candle buring in the closet to produce more CO2. I have pictures but they were taken with a camera phone so they are not the greatest but any suggestions, tips, or words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated, thanks

iree, you needent mist the plant every day just water till it comes out of the bottom of the pot then repeat whent the soil is dry, the candle is mabye not a good idea tho they give off harmfull gasses could poison the plant.

and that light is insufficient for good growth, save some money and get a decent light itll pay for its self after the first harvest

this is an interesting study that i came across a month or so ago, that might just help your candle cause...

Postulate I: A typical candle produces about 13 lumens of visible light, from a total power output of about 40 W, most of which is heat.
Postulate II: A 40 W electric incandescent light bulb consumes 40 W of electric power, and produces approximately 500 lumens of visible light output.
Postulate III: The overwhelming majority of candles are made from petroleum, in the form of paraffin wax. Paraffin wax has a heat of combustion of approximately 42 kJ/g, and can be assumed to consist, chemically, entirely of pentacosane -

Postulate IV: The average greenhouse gas emissions intensity for electric power generation in Australia is about 800 g
/kWh, and electricity is transmitted with transmission losses of about 7%.

= 352.68 g/mol;
= 44.0 g/mol.
Thus, we know the emission of carbon dioxide from burning candles:
- per candle per hour.

i've tried 4 large candles in my vegetation room, however i noticed no increased results at this point.
my most recent CO2 endeavor has included watering twice a week with Club Soda (mineral free). the theory is that as it bubbles (obviously expends gasses into the roots, which can't absorb CO2) so the gas rises to the leaves. The part that has interested me most are the air bubbles created within the soil as the gas is released. I believe that this could possibly help the roots absorb O2.

Wow +rep for you!!! Nice detailed answer, good work mate!!

Those equations slightly went over my head tho lol, but I get the idea, also I like your soda experiment, sounds like the bubb;es in the soil could help absorb o2 to the roots, I guess it's a bit like when u add an airstone ina hydro setup really!!!

Do u have a grow journal or anything that could keep me updated on how it goes???

Thanks for the quick feedbck everybody, so there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with my plant? And if the lighting isn't effecient, would upgrading to a higher wattage fluro be better, say like, one equivalent to 100w?

you can get a 400w High Pressure Sodium for around $130. It will definitely pay off after the first harvest. Check out htg supply.

to answer the question: 42w CFL envirolites (150w output, 2700 lumens), 6500k (blueish white light) for veg, 2700-3500K (reddish yellow light) for bloom

i have a few small, early on projects posted, my larger projects make me uncomfortable posting pics (but we'll see how proud i am later)... but the next grow is a 4 strain SOG, (white widow, blueberry, granddaddy kush, and afghan... all from a medical grade/tier 1 cali grower).
equip will entail:
-2 400w hps (1 veg, 1 bloom)
-each strain (minus the bonsai mama's) will have a 30 gallon rubbermaid container to thrive in, usually 16-20 clones per container.

3 weeks veg, 6 weeks bloom... small plants bloom fast! haha

in theory it will produce a 200-250 grams per container
