A broken Heart

So until a few days ago I was happy in a 4 1/2 year ongoing relationship with my high school sweetheart. We have been living together for about a year now. I came home from work to find her not home on Friday, so i call to see where she was and she says she is at her parents house. I knew this to be true because i could her family members in the background. I thought noting of this and went to bed. The next day we went to lunch and had a long talk about our lives and we both feel that the stress of working and paying bills is just to much for us being that we both go to college full time. We agreed that we would both move home and get back on our feet. With this in mind we thought that we would take our relationship one day at a time. So that night we spend the night together and get some Chinese, smoke and make love all night.. Now here we are on Sunday and i try and talk with her and it feels as if im being blown off and ignored; this whole sitition is emotionally very hard for me and i am not sure if our realtionship will end or not... I have always been able to count on her through everything and now it seems as if thats is gone... I hope im just over-reacting to all this, but its kiiling me inside... Please guys/gals give me advice on this situation.

i understand that much of the situation, but she has even said that we have always been more than just lovers we have been best friends through so much of life. And in all honesty i put all my emotions in to this thing and don't think iam ready to deal with this especially with little support from anyone let alone the one person that was my everything. I don't want to seem desperate to her ,but iam finding it hard to deal with this its all happening so fast. And if we have problems i thought we could work through them or at least talk about it. Anybody that has known us knows that we are always at each others side good times and bad and this is one of those hard times and im alone for it. And honestyly im scared of that. this realtionship was not a little highschool fling this is the love of my life, my soulmate.

Buck, whose Idea was it to go 1 day at a Time, was it consensual....

Why? because you shouldn't be heart broken if it was......The only party who is Heart Broken is the Party who really don't agree w/ the arrangements, but is usually willing b/c it will still allow some type of relationship with that person, or kids....... Any kidz Involved?

Dude, it seems like the end of the World, But believe me, It's Not the End of the World,

when a lady mentions best friend's or friends, it's over man, try to see past this moment in time and learn from it. When you look back at age 70 that 4.5 yrs will seem like a drop in the bucket. It may seem huge now but move on.. peace bro

Its is really hard for us to understand what is happening here with you... even if you told us everything you could... there is simply no way that somebody can explain the depth of how they love another person....

Sometimes in life, the people that mean the most to us at the time abandon us..... and sometimes we spend our lives trying to work out why that was....

She wants different things, and it sounds like she doesn't want to be honest with you about what it is she wants.... most likely because she cant find a way to express the right way so that you will understand....

Many hearts have been broken through time, but time mends all hearts... how long that takes depends on you....

I know how shit it sounds when people say 'dont worry bout, wont matter shit in time.. you will get over it!'...

it feels very impersonal cause I mean pffffff, how could they understand.... but it is the truth, even if you cant see it now, and most of the time you cant at this stage... its all doom and gloom:evil:

You see like a great guy, and great guys always find another great girl... its all karma buddy:blsmoke:

Im the one with the broken heart because ive invested so much time energy and emotion into this thing. And you are right on the inside i dont agree with this and she knows it to , but im trying to do the right thing for her(you cant hold on to tight right?) Even all of our mutual friends find this to be a huge shock because we have always been so close sexually, emotionally and shit we live together go to school together everyday. Thats why this is so hard for me cause it literally a major shift in both of our lives. once again this is not my firdt ended raltionship or woman by a long shot, but it has been the most meaningful. And it scary for me to be so let down, I know it sounds weak, but i would be lying if i said otherwise.

Thank you for your kind words and advice.. I really appropriate that, i don't know what the future holds.I hope we in time can work this out. She says that she has to find herself in order to move forward. I understand this , but i always thought that our time and life experience together helped us both do just that.

sounds like ur doin the right thing. Caring for YOURSELF first...after all, can't look out/care for somebody else until you care for yourself first, but just wanted to say....

And I know this will sound sexist but- I personally, think that women are generally more needy by nature...like it's some sort of evolutionary characteristic. they want a guy to be emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually strong and supportive- after all, that will better-ensure survival of offspring.

So the more "clingy or needy" you act, like you're trying to save the relationship by latching on, the more turned off she'll be. Maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to hang out with some female friends around her. Ignite that spark again by eliciting a lil jealousy, ya know? When they say "nice guys finish last" and "women want a bad boy", there IS a lil something too it, which sucks, cuz we're always sorta expected to act a bit inhumane and selfish or assholish, even if we don't want to, but hell, we still want to attract girls.

GL to ya

Long term relationships carried over from high school sweethearts rarely work out. Been there, done that. Focus on anything and everything that can help your life move forward and try not to think about it. Whatever happens was meant to happen. I know surrendering that kind of control over is hard, but believe me it's the best thing. Don't worry about saving face. Pride is the refuge of the weak anyway. Just stay true to yourself, be honest, and make good long term decisions. Best of luck.

hey bucket, i feel your pain bro, the same thing happened with me and my high school sweet heart we dated for seven years and kinda grew apart even though we were still very close. It is the lure of not knowing what else is out there. she probably is feeling the need to spread her wings a little bit. You know what they say set it free...... I did the same with my girlfriend from high school. In 2000 i set my beautiful butterfly free. And to tell you the truth it was some of the most painful years of my life. We went years without speaking. If we did see each other it wasnt pleasent. But I can tell you THEY DO COME BACK!!!!!!!!!

SHE CAME BACK!!!!It took her a long time but she finallly realized what we had and that that type of thing isnt easy to find!!!! The only problem is theres a new girl now, one that makes me just as happy as the girl from high school!!!

The moral of the story here is set her free. And set yourself free!!!! Spread your wings and explore the world. See all the things you been missin. In time you will find love, if not with her then with someone else!!! It will all work out just as it is meant to be. Its life man you gotta pick up the pieces and keep on truckin!!!
