A few CFL grow questions.

1. If I chose only one spectrum of CFL to use what should it be?
I'm guessing 2700-2800K because that's the one more ideal for flowering.

2. How many lumens do I need per plant?

3. Do CFL's produce less heat per lumen than HPS lights or is it just that they're cooler because they don't have as many lumens?

Thanks,

well you need a good amount of blue for flowering..over 5000k is the ideal amount..if you really choose to get one either you'll probably get smaller buds after flower, or the plants won't be that big after veg, and it will take longer..the first time I did this I used 4 6500k bulbs and 1 2700k 150watt the whole way through and it didn't turn out half bad. If you can grab at least one red spectrum bulb

I have about nine thousand lumens of cfl on three plants. They are young. I have 5 26 watt 6500K Daylight cfls and one 2700k 42 watt cfl I have another 6500k daylight bulb I am not using, should I take the 2700k 42 watt out and put the 26 watt daylight in? That would give me all 6 bulbs of daylight type. Am I wasting the 42 watts of power using that 2700k while they are in Veg? I hate the thought of that 42 watts being a waste of money, when I could give the plants an extra 26 watts of Daylight bulb. It would cost less, and the daylight would give off less heat as well, since it's only 26 watts.

Thanks
Just found that, it might help

Lastly, CFLs produce less heat in general because they are a lot smaller and do not put out nearly as much heat as an HID system (with either bulb in)

Hope that helps
