Great thought, thank you. Might make sense for him to get his card. He's only got a week left before he has his court date. No public defender assigned yet.

Have him spend the cash to get a card and at least have that paperwork with him at his court day. It wouldn't hurt.

Might as well get a lawyer, no lawyer likely means a year or more of probation, which varying by county is anywhere from 100-200 dollars a month plus costs of testing.
