A little grow

Decided to set up a couple plants in my sun room.
Visited Greenhouse Seed Company a while back and took home some OG White Widow.

Now I have never grown WW before. I prefer Super Lemon Haze or Afghani x NL#5

But let's give her a go.

I've used AN before with predictable results. So I'm going to switch from their standard grow and bloom to their Connoisseur grow for Coco. Since I'm growing in Coco.

Now I'm an OG and don't do the paper towel or cup starter method.

I much prefer washing and priming my Coco with some good old fashioned tap water, and priming with myco and molasses, and a touch of micro nutrients. Getting that healthy colony of myco built up before you start your seed helps with growth and disease resistance. I usually fill up my pots with my washed and drained coco and sprinkle the myco starter in as I mix it. Then mix some micros, and molasses like 1/8 strength. Then cover with a plastic bag and let the myco grow for about a week. This is the same process as growing mushrooms.

Then I place a chopstick, clean and sterile of course into my pots, shake the newly wetted seed in myco powder and drop in the hole.

That's it. That's how I've done almost all my grows.

Now, it's been a few weeks, and I've used nothing but what I've documented here.

Tap water
Connoisseur for Coco
Myco (any)
Molasses

I supplement light with some off the shelf led panels. And often place them outside on my patio for some extended sunshine.

For bug resistance I use diatomaceous earth in a light soap flake mixture and spray it on everything. And I mean everything. It won't hurt the plants. And bugs can't stand the stuff. And it's organic! Just please for the love of all that is holy don't inhale the stuff. It's nasty on your lungs.

I water them maybe every 2-4 days depending on if it's raining or not. I'll notice the leaf drop and water then.

I'll post photos soon as I'm already a month or so in and my days are fully packed.

Thanks,
I am going back to the OG strains.
But this time with all the new tech. Seems people have all these fancy new genetics, and have forgotten about some of the best strains ever invented.
I want to see how the Connoisseur line does with this strain. If she does well, I plan on doing some high quality reserve style grows.
I have mediocre weed at the local dispensaries but nothing high quality. It's all super hybridized mutt strains. I bought some "super lemon haze" from my local shop. And it was not even close to what I had in Amsterdam. The flavor was way off. And the smoke was super chokey. Which I'm sure was just a grower pumping them full of chemicals to get higher yield.

We shall see how the girls turn out. They look really close to the WW I've grown in the past. I did a lower leaf trim and inner sucker cleanup in prep for flowering. They finished sexing the past few days I'm putting them in 24 hours of darkness today. I'll build a trellis tomorrow and start training her this week.

Well if they turn out piney and bittersweet almost minty hints kinda but not with a almost pyramidal bud structure and insane resin production and a high that hits like a train then its the proper widow i know and love i still got old seeds of it but it be nice to find more

Yup that's what I'm going for. Greenhouse seed company is the creator of white widow. Shantibaba was the genetics creator while he worked there. So these are the original strain.

Yeah your Kind of right but folks forget there was a clone only ww long before it was in seed shanti created the seedline for sure but as for who created the clone ingemar claims he found it who knows for sure bit murky that way the history and all that also the south Indian in its clearly a hybrid or it wouldnt finish as fast as it does

Lol true, however those genetics are long gone.
Sadly. Girls are doing really well, first week of flower on Connoisseur bloom. All seems healthy.

If this strain is tru to it's origins I may do a full 20-30 plant run over the winter.

Stores have been getting some trash genetics lately. And I have customers eagerly awaiting some top shelf stuff.

Ppl shitting on me being gone for 8 years. Funnily enough I was growing medical and had 0 time for all this nonsense.

Here's my 2018 grow on industrial shelves like in Amazon warehouses.

Plants are about a week apart. Looking amazing.

Ive always been looking for a good source of OG genetics sadly getting out of country Seeds in my location is quite difficult. If you know of some Genetic seed libraries that are reliable i am all ears.. i usually just look for the team or grow house that originated it. hoping they maintain the strain over time.. Ive visited greenhouse personally and they' ve always been reliable for me at least in super lemon haze.

" i disagree with leaving fem seeds in places that already have indigenous cannabis" ??

Anywhere ghs goes to collect landraces then they use em to make there hybrids with well they got a real bad habit of giving the locals there seeds pretty much from the Himalayas to south africa pretty much any strain hunters location if you seen those docs? well im sure as you know these strains that are adapted to certain locations for god knows how many generations possess unique qualities and more importantly unique genetics well if you pollute the gene pool with other strains it changes the genepool dont it and thats happening big all over the world right now countries with indigenous cannabis are all growing out more hybrids and stuff its only a matter of time till the only pure lines are the ones in private collections be it seedbanks growers whatever its a sad fact and a inevitability as for breeder recommendations what do you like ? I could recommend loads lol

Ah ok that makes sense. I wasnt sure what you were referring to. Yes the OG Afghani Kush strains, old thai stick, Skunk #1, Northern lights, Jack herrer, et al, are super hard to find in dispensaries. ive got clients that want the OG strains.. and research is scarce on some of them .. Even the OG sour diesel seeds that ive gotten are not the strain i remember ..

What a difference 4 weeks makes.

She's all tented up and trellaced.. Im using AN Connoisseur Coco Bloom, molasses and myco in my water. That's it.

Every morning I open up the tent and there girls get 6 hours of direct sunlight in the tent. Then the next 6 is straight led and indirect sunlight.

I'm not lollipoping, or defoliating or any other advanced growing techniques as I want to see how this strain grows start to finish.

I have 3 more seedlings that will pop this week. Once they are ready, and these 2 larger plants are finished I will scrog the next 3.

I may pick up some amendments this go.around. Maybe Big Bud, or Massive if I can find it.

Thoughts ?

Starting to get super frosty, had a bit of a few hot days, temps creeped up to the mid 80s

A tiny bit of nute burn on the main leaves but that's just because I'm giving her full strength nutes now. Decided to add just big bud to this run.

Still only Connoisseur Bloom A+B, molasses and Big Bud, tap water.

This line seems to be doing great so far. Can't say there's any negatives.

The genetics on these plants are great. Great leaf structure. Fan leaves bigger than my head!

My brother stopped by and handed me some seeds he wants me to run next.

I don't have any room in my tent lol.

Guess I'll have to throw the new seeds outside?

Comments always welcome.

I was always begging my friends 12+ years ago to grow White Widow, they'd always say "I can't the yeild sucks". Best I got was White Rhino. So happy I'll be growing my own favorite OG strains soon. This ones on my list, Hopefully. Awesome frost pr0fessor!

Yup it's not about yield anymore for me.

Ever since I did a few years of medical grows I now appreciate the OG strains more and more. The terpene profiles, the flavors, and the quality of smoke on alot of these old strains, simple as they are, keep me coming back.

Fancy strains are fine nothing wrong with them. But smoking some premium WW or Skunk#1 is a memorable experience.
