That's a big ass light, friend! what is that, like 8 ft long?

you'd probably be better off buying a smaller T5. I can't rightly tell the light output from the photos. I usually try to give the little ones about 8000 lumens while they veg initially. after about 4 weeks though I want them under at least 750W Metal Halide. tens of thousands of lumens with those babies.

If you intend to grow Vertically however, this light might be a real winner. Check out the vert forums. the length of the light might be a good thing.I've only just started reading about Vert techniques so tke what I give you in this regard with a gran of salt.. for short squat grows though this will work for a while in early veg, but not for very long.

Ok so each 4ft t8 has a listed value of 2200 lumens. And 4100k. So would that be enough to grow 2 dwarf low Ryder at a time?

you can veg under that for a while but id get something better for flower or your end product will suck. i wouldnt do it. return that thing if your plan was to grow anything more than clones or vegetable seed starts under it.

Thanks for the help alienwidow. So not even good for 1 dwarf low Ryder at a time?
not to flower. 4 ft, 2 bulb t8s will accommodate two seed trays under them. so if you want to run 150 clones under there it would be good, or like i said, start your vegetable garden under it which i do recommend.

I've run six bulb t8 4 ft lights and had plants veg nicely to three and a half feet and bushy, but those floro tubes just don't have the penetration that hid lighting provides for flowering. two low riders, 400 w hps. theres no rule that says you can't veg under an hps just because the spectrums not perfect. I'm vegging under them right now just because i ran out of room under my 4 ft 6 bulb t5 hos.

the problem with buyng a light that you think might just cut it is that you usually have to buy twice. i started small too, leds, t8s, floro pig tails, 600s. if you have the space just bite the bullet and get a double ended 1000w and giver. if not get whatever the footprint you want to cover will handle. 4x4 for a 600w, and 5x5 for a 1000w.
