A note to noob's

Dear noob's....

When growing your first ever plant .. Keep shit as simple as possible. I see new growers looking at me being like "I wanna grow 4 plants and scrog em and use fox farm trio + beastie bloomz,open sesame and cha ching and 4 nutrients from AN.


If you are growing your first plant ever and wanna get good results the keep it simple stupid method will work for you.

Your first ever grow dont do 5 plants.. Its not smart in the slightest.

Do 1 plant.. Hell do an autoflower and stick to an easy nutrient setup like dyna gro foliage pro and bloom or the fox farm liquid trio.


for a first time grower you dont need much.. If I was to go back and grow my first ever plant I would buy fox farm trio and grow one auto or one photo strain in fox farm ocean forest soil... buy a ph meter and ph up and down and ph nutrient solution to 6.5 every time.

do that till harvest and flush. bam!.. done!.. you may not get 5 oz dry but you will get an actual harvest of good smoke.


This is my christmas present to new growers who actually wanna grow a plant to harvest and get atleast 1 oz dry of really good smoke.


Dont get in over your head on your first grow. You have loads to learn..

Hell. I still have loads to learn and I'm on my 10th grow.

In saying that. I chose to top my first indoor grow. Instead of just letting it grow normally.

Decided I wanted to boost my first harvest. Don't know if I succeeded. Or just made the plant lower and wider than if it grew normally.

One thing I'd like to add. Is the whole not over doing things. If there's one thing I've learned from this run. Don't water too often or too much. The other is make sure you know the pH going in. Otherwise you'll see funny business from your crop.

FLUSHING is a MYTH! Keeping myths alive is counter productive...

Learn how to grow a house plant first. Like an African violet. When you can get that to flower....then grow some MJ.

READ up on growing - read up on growing MJ...

THEN grow some!

Toilets. And knuckle children are the only things you should flush.

Only thing id disagree on is plant count.

Grow as many as you can. You will learn more faster and much better chance of making enough smoko till the next harvest, house deposit, car..whatever floats ya boat.

I keep it more simple even now after years and years of growing and get my most consistent best product ...imagine that

KISS is a great rule for a new grower for sure ...

As well as -don't kill with kindness ...

Flushing only kills baby rhinos in Africa and if you really feel the need to do it ....it's the handle on the left after you wipe your ass ......or just leave it for the next person like me ....seasons greetings ---Inda

"Dont kill with kindness" is a great tip. I agree 1/2 heartedly with the no flushing; as long as you dont over feed or use strong bloom boosters near the end.

I topped my current grow 4 times for the first time ever and vegged way too long in a 3 gallon container (2 months) the buds are hanging every which way lopsided etc and its gonna be hard to keep branches from breaking till harvest.. each day is a struggle.


I would love to scrog but I water in my bathtub and have to move plants.. one thing ive always wondered.. If you scrog a plant and in flowering she is growing through the screen.. how do you water without getting your floors wet/ruined?

I flush because i use fox farm solubles and use their cha ching up until flush... i can use water or florakleen and when i use florakleen after cha ching i get smoother smoke than with water alone.

with florakleen i can use nutes longer and flush them out faster.. I think atleast.. I done taste tests and the florakleen bud is always better

I feel ya.. in all honesty i wish i could grow 4 at all timese.. 4 different strains always

I think I topped twice. But left two lower branches to grow normally. Also 2 months veg. And the bucket was way too small for the task. Which is probably why I'm only getting about $70 (incl larfy) worth in green. After nearly 5 months wait.

all good brother. next round will be better.

This 4 x topped blue mystic will prob only give me 1.5-2 oz dry .. she has 4 weeks left and i cant wait to get her done and start another. i will never top again unless i can figure out a way to keep the plant upright and symmetrical

the upside to this blue mystic is .. its more crystally at 4 weeks flowering then others at harvest.. this is my first time using big bloom/tiger bloom/ open sesame/ beastie bloomz/ cha ching... I used to only use tiger bloom only when growing autos

For me. It would be one or two mother plants. And a couple of clones. Or 50% in veg/seedling stage. The other 50% in flower. If I could only do 4 plants.

The best I could do right now is two. One in veg stage. One in bloom.

my favorite thing to do is start an auto and 1.5 months later start a photo next to auto.. then second auto is done at 18/6 you switch timer to 12/12 and finish off photo strain.

thats what happened this grow and i like the turnaround time.

im very small scale.. I use a closet and 2 lights together.. a mars 300 and 180 watt ufo both full spectrum led's.

Cheers brah. I should hope round two would be smoother. I'd like to think I learned something.

I did have symmetry on mine. Until I transplanted to another bucket. I had 6 even heads now only 5 and one that's broken into 3 smaller buds.

I quite like the topping method. It keeps the canopy relatively even. Ups the head count. And looks really funky.

I'm small scale too. Don't know if I want any more than 4 plants honestly.

I've got this micro cab going nicely. Still could do with an upgrade. But, I'm looking to upgrade in size. So I can properly run two plants simultaneously.

Rather than one being semi outdoors and the other being cab grown.

I agree with lucky luke. More than just one plant is the way to go. Ive had some plants start looking like shit while my other ones looked great. The other ones are your back up plan. If u have only one and it starts going south, well now your just shit out of luck.

Leave it the Fuck alone is some good advice. Take your impatient ass and do something productive while you leave your plant a lone to do its thing. Like really it just needs a little water. It don't need the 800 other things u read about on the internet.

Buy some good seeds off the internet too. why waste 6 months on some bull shit bag seed right. Pro tip, learn how to pop seeds with the bag seeds before trying the $15/pc seeds.

Finally, jerkin off infront of your plants will stimulate growth as it boosts their self esteem knowing u are jerkin it to them.

Edit: if your a girl, you have to bend over and rub ur butt hole but dont penitrate, plants don't like that

Oh and invest in some good lights! The first run before you start cloning is a lot of time to waste using a couple cfl's. HID lighting can be pretty cheap and is well worth the cost.

i planted a vegie garden and when i got something edible off all the plants i planted i knew id get something smokable and yea flushing isnt necessary i do drop back on my nutes a bit tho

Run deep instead of wide, 3 gallon trash cans with holes drilled in the bottoms work great and stack like bricks in flower, rectangle vs round. MD
