A PH meter that actually works?

I bought two Milwaukee PH55 meters. They worked great for about 2 months. I had to send one in almost right away and they returned it to me 5 months later and say nothing is wrong with it when it wont even calibrate. My other meter wont calibrate either. One says WRNG and the other just records at a PH of 11. These meters need to be taken off the market. When they did work both meters would read 7.2 in 7.0 calibration solution. My plants got messed up because the PH was way off.

What PH meters actually last and work?

after doing a lots of looking at reveiws on PH Penn Meters , it seemed to me even if you spend in the 100-$200 area problems occur at the same rate as 50 to $80 PH pen meters , Lots of people use that milwaukee PH55 , and I was vey close to getting one myself ,but from all the reveiws it either was Good or a lemon with the PH55, and there is a boat load of reveiws on the Mil ph55 , But afterlooking through tons of reveiws on ph meter in the 35-80 range with the HM PH80 , not a whole lot of reveiws on this meter but most if Not all reviews on the HM PH80 were very good and all reviews had a very consistant wording on the likes of this meter, this is why I bought one , BTW your post is a carbon copy of most reviews out there for the PH55

I have a milwaukee PH 600 it worked fine but was incredibly slow to give an accurate reading (6 mins) so I bought 2 cheap ph pens direct from china ($20 shipped) best decision I made instant readings, In 6 months I have calibrated it twice and it was only off .2 sorry it doesn't have a brand name

I thought they had a combo meter , ppm , ph and temperature but maybe not. I use guardians, they're continuous monitors.

Milwaukee recently began to use inferior parts in there cheap meters , the casing now is even made cheaper . I wont buy them any longer but I did use them for years while tossing them like Bic Lighters ..

My main choice is Bluelab and then Oaktron and then HM Digital . I dont even expect any pen or probe to last but a year at max and even then I have to keep a backup or two for cross referencing when needed ..

I have the Oakton EcoTester PH2 and it has actually worked GREAT for me. I have been using it for a Few Months now, and got so used how easy it is to test and go, I had forgotten to Calibrate it for quite some time. So the other day, I pulled out my Calibration solution (both 7.0 & 4.0) and when I dipped the Meter, it went right to 7.0 & 4.0, so didn't even need to calibrate it.

I had spent over $100 on the Hanna Tri-Meter and it was a Nightmare. It would take a long time to finally get to a number, needed constant calibration, and was just all around Finicky. The Oakton goes right to a number and stops in just a few seconds, and has not needed to be calibrated every time I turn around.

I also looked at the BlueLabs, but they are obviously a bit pricey, and I was a little Gun Shy after the Hanna Debacle, but apparently I lucked out, cause I really like the meter, and liked it so much that I purchase it twin EC Meter.. The EC Meter is OK... A little off, but not enough to care about.
