I decided it was time to up the nutrient amounts in the water. I opted to not do a full water change because how young the plants are and it is unlikely that they consumed too much to cause nutrient deficiencies in the water. I also didn’t want to have to add more gnatrol back in to conserve it. Checked the water report and found that I should have plenty calcium and magnesium in my tap water. Here are my readings before I added my nutrient shots (the numbers are actual PPM before shaving off the amounts in my tap water.)

Plant 1 – 470 PPM 6.4 PH
Plant 2 – 460 PPM 6.0 PH
Plant 3 – 470 PPM 6.1 PH
Plant 4 – 460 PPM 6.1 PH

Each bucket got 2 drops of superthrive, 1.5 TSP of GH micro, and 1.5 TSP of FF tiger bloom. I also ended up adding a small amount of PH down to bucket #1. Fingers crossed for a favorable reaction. Here's the cute photo for the day, my hamster seems to like plant #2!

The girls seem to like the new nutrients, or they are recovering from the rockwool water saturation. Or maybe they are recovering from the fungus gnats… Either way they seem happy and healthy. Unfortunately plant 1’s roots are winding around the air hose and I expect within a few days that it will be wrapping around the air stone. The different genetics of the plants are starting to stand out a bit based on their leaf shapes.

I hit the 2-week benchmark! Cue the fanfare! I decided to take 3 foliage pictures of each plant from different angles to really document this momentous occasion. Really wondering if cheesecloth was the best material to hold the sand up though. Even though I have it layered 4 fold, I still constantly have to fix little “sink holes.” I just slap some extra cheesecloth on the hole and put more sand on it. I figure eventually it will be pretty solid. Really nothing else to report at the moment so on to the pictures:

So a lot of the plants are showing that their first sets of leaves may eventually die out. They still seem to be thriving to me though so I’ll just keep an eye on them and clip them out if they look dead. They also are acquiring a fair number of nodes and I have my fingers crossed for when they start alternating (still quite a bit a way sadly.) Pretty soon it will be time to think about topping them! Here are the day’s pictures:

Looking good, I wish I had a better job and growing as mine never turn out as good as half the others here, but oh well i keep trying and have subscribed to watch as it goes.

I was away for two days on business but had my significant other watching the girls for me. All was well, but I have no real updates or pictures for the 16th or 17th day. Today I decided to FIM plants 2, 3, and 4 to hopefully reduce the number of males I get and promote multiple growths shoots (https://www.rollitup.org/general-marijuana-growing/18499-hermaphrodites.html.) Basically I’m avoiding stress during the crucial period to reduce hermies/males. I will FIM plant 1 as soon as possible but the particular stage the new growth is in would make the cut be unlike any FIM pictures I have seen (the new growth will be better visible soon.) I used sterilized nail cutters to do the job. Here are some pictures of them before the FIM, and I will post the after FIM pictures together as soon as I cut plant 1.

Some may feel this is a bit early to FIM, but they all have at least 4 true nodes and the stems are nice and thick because of the fan I keep on them. I am fairly confident they can shoulder the new load but we will have to see won’t we?

I added 1.5 teaspoons of GH flora to bucket #3, and all buckets received 2 teaspoons of 29% H202. The Gnats seem to be in check so im hoping enough Gnatrol survives to keep them protected. I’ll observe them closely to see if they react positively. I’ve been reading https://www.rollitup.org/general-marijuana-growing/1469-marijuana-plant-problems-cures.html and don’t seem to have PH lockout and the water should still have ample nutrients: Superthrive, GH micro, and FF big bloom. I have cal/mag but since my local water report shows plenty in my water supply it shouldn’t be necessary. In the next few days I may end up doing full water changes but before that I will experiment a bit with what I have and see what the girls like. I also FIMed plant #1 today so I am hoping for good things. Here are the pictures of the day:

Well the plants don’t seem to be getting any worse, so that’s a good sign. I know a lot of times damaged leaf will never fully repair so I’m just watching them all closely to make sure symptoms don’t degrade. I still haven’t done res changes although I plan to do that as soon as my significant other has some free time (it’s a two person job with my setup sadly.)

I managed to install an air-cooled hood attachment to my light and a whoa-baby blower to keep it cool. It went from being able to burn my hand when touching it to “cool to the touch.” Unless my carbon filters really drag down my exhaust system (which ill have to use soon as topping made them start to smell skunky) temperatures shouldn’t ever be an issue. I may even be able to add a couple CFLs now. Next on my to do list is installing some more 4 inch PVC pipes for passive intake as I now have 3 exhaust fans (a 4 inch, 6 inch, and 8 inch) working with only about 8 total inches of passive intake. My stealth cab sounds like a harrier landing! Actually it’s really not too bad.
