the only problem that i can see is ,when you come to weed the males out or re-pot into bigger pots ,if you have them all growing in one pot the roots will be one big entangled mass and its going to cause a lot of stress trying to untangle them if its even going to be possible at all .the roots are the plants life and are fragile.

In a perfect work every other plant would be male and I would just snip them off at the top of the ground and let the roots break down into plant food. Not a perfect world though.

As I have never seen the roots of a pot plant, this will be part of the learning experience too. With other plants I have found unless they are very very root bound, they will break apart without too much trama. Not sure if this is the case with pot though. I will take lots of pictures and post them when the time comes.

wow people are crazy over CFL's the reader above is correct its about lumens per watt the tubes 3ft-8ft are not as good as the smaller CFL's and they get better every day the big mistake that people make is to buy the highest watts possable in CFL's but the higher you go the lower in lumens per watt you go the best to day is about 42-55 wats per bulb there is a guy in alaska making lighting systems that have 3-14 cfls and he is pretty good i bought from him and had great success check him out at [email protected]

i had my grow going with cfl's

i had about 3 daylight 20 watts and about 2 42watts and 1 20w warm white for 3 plants during veg.

this was 1 of them after about 18 days

the grow never got finished due to the police -.-
but i cant say i noticed any problems with the lights

as for the root structure
the roots went right to the bottom of the 8 inch pots and were pushed up against the edges.

i've had more than excellent results with cfl's... but i had to have 5 per plant to get a good thing going. buds were light and airy, and the weight suffered, but it did work ;)

yeye i grew my last plant with 110watts of cfl ( mid spectrum 27 watts) and yielded 14 grams of premium dope, this season im growin with 2 42watt (mids 2600 k) a 23 watt mid, and 2 27 watt daylights and i might get a 10.0 reptilian UVB light to enh resin production. i use only 100% natural organic nutes and flush my his season i expect to grow 28 grams+
with my 150 watt cfl set up.
my energy cost for lighting alone is 6.61$ a month (about 20$ per season per plant).
