A very risky grow

No expectations on yield, just looking forward to learning SCROG techniques, growing under the sun, and pulling off a risky grow. If I had to register a guess, i might say an ounce or two per plant. My first decent indoor harvest just brought me about 1/2 ounce per plant, so anything that beats that will float my boat very nicely.

I also plan to yield, hopefully, some sweet walla walla onions. A seasonal treat of the PNW that I have high hopes for!

I am fairly bored and a bit crunk, so am just posting some pics for fun. I transplanted the onions and pumpkins to bigger pots today. It is warm enough for the onions to go outside during the day, but too cold at night. The temp readings on my 2nd story south facing balcony the last few days were as high as 78F day and as low as 37F night. This is in the middle of February in Oregon. I do believe we are having an El Nino year, but could be wrong.

I also threw in a pic of the balcony. The empty parking space in the background is where my apartment manager usually parks. I can't wait for spring....

Also, some contemplation about my current strains (since this is my own journal, I don't have to worry about jacking this thread....hahaha)

I currently have:

WMD (Big Bud x Fucking Incredible)
Rainwreck (Trainwreck x Afgooey, aka afwreck)
Black Domina (Various genetic contributors)
Sour Diesel seeds, feminized

Sour diesel is a no go due to its distinct odor of diesel.
Rainwreck grows too tall. I currently have two flowering and they are tal bitches.
Black Domina - unsure. I have not flowered it yet but it is the prettiest thing I have ever seen in veg.
WMD - I will have to have my fiance tell me how this one smells. I currently have one 7+ weeks into flowering butI have no sense of smell, so couldn't say.

Perhaps I could trade for a clone from another member in my area, ideally some Northern Lights, or some other low odor strain. We'll have to get moving in that in order to get soime scrog practice in before summer.

I think I am going to use the WMD (big bud x fucking incredible) for this grow. I have a WMD about 8 weeks flowering that just started its final burst of growth, and looks great. I also have a WMD mother that I could use for clones. The flowering one has almost no smell to it, but we are not all the way done yet, so who knows. But if I can't find another NL plant, I will just use what I have (if it harvests w/o odor and smokes well).

Which seed breeder was your Northern Lights from? It seems to me your idea is pretty good to disguise and from what I read so far Northern Lights is indica and indicas are mostly short plants so you will probably be fine in my opinion.

The NL I had come from a bagseed. I got a bag from my dealer, he said 'I think it's NL or something', I said 'I hope I find a seed!' and found two while breaking up my first bowl. Both sprouted and flowered. I tried to reveg them but did not leave enough of the plant intact and it died with some quickness.

This WMD should be sufficient though, as I said it has very little smell and stays short, although is a little longer flowering than the NL. I am currently poking around the OMMP community trying to find another NL plant, if I could find one it would be great. If not, I'm not too worried.

Thanks for dropping by!

Temps on my balcony 2 days ago (sunny day): 79 (projected high was 50)
Temps on my balcony yesterday (rainy day): 46 (projected high was 46)
This means I likely get to start a little sooner, since my 2nd story south facing balcony is a heat trap in the sun.

PS - I have looked for NL seeds online, I only need 1 or 2. Best deal I could find was about $16 a seed, too much. I found other NL for $3 or so a seed, but it was crossed with skunk, meaning it might be too high odor, I would think.

Hello sir. I was just pondering your situation, and being a grower and living in oregon as well I thought I might be able to assist you with your strain situation. I am not currently legal but I have tons and tons of clones that need to be taken off of one of my mothers as I am reaching my height restriction. I would actually be willing to give you 2 free clones of my favorite purple strain that has a sweet but very unnoticeable odor, it has tight dense nugs. You should PM me and I can see about getting you those. The reason they would be free is I am interested in seeing them grown bigger as I can only do a SOG and my height restriction is about 4 1/2 ft. Let me know. peace

I have a blueberry strain in pdx that would be nice for that, faint sweet blueberry smell at a distance but not autoflower.

I know what you mean about the thrill factor... I grew middle floor apartment 2kw illegal back in the days.

But they can evict you and you know it, it's still not legal enough OMMP or not means nothing.

Here are some pics of the disguise plants germinating (p=pumpkins (left), o = sweet walla walla onion (center), and c = catnip (left)).

Also, some of my stealthy indoor cab grow. Mid layer is veg and top layer is bloom. Bloom layer has vacancy since I just moved 2 plants to darkness before harvest this morning. That vacancy won't last long!

I didn't forget to include pics of the balcony, I just want to show you how close it is to my apartment manager's parking spot and my two neighbors' balconies. I will use a tape measure to demonstrate how insanely close both are. Yet I remain sure I will not be detected using odorless autoflowers, LST techniques, a disguise garden, and stoner MacGyverism.

Chime in if you'd like, I'd love to hear from you about this. Also, some pics of my 4 week flowering WMD plant (big bud x fucking incredible).
I love your cabinet!!! And I normally dont think too highly of em.. +Rep

Thanks everyone!

DwAeNeKd and Oregon Meds, thank you for your offer and subscribing! I don't really have room for any clones right now, I am currently trying to give some away. If any OMMP members want some Rainwreck (trainwreck x afgooey), it is yours free. I am just outside of PDX to the west.

Thanks for the kind words about the cabinet, CLOSETGROWTH! I am going to pass it down to my fiance after I get a better area in which to grow. It needs a better ventilation system, which I currently have on standby for once warmer temps move into the pdx area.

Thanks again everyone!

PS - Sweet walla walla onions are currently chilling on my balcony. They say it is a hardy plant and can be put outside 'as soon as soil is workable', so that is what I did. I will bring them in if temps drop below freezing, though

I think I'll take you up on that offer for the clones. thanks man,
I'm in beaverton actually, so you can't be too far away from me.

Do you have any rooted or just cuttings? My cloner is full atm, but nothing's anywhere near done.

I love walla walla's too btw, damn you now I want a hamburger and onion rings you really kicked in the munchies. I wish it was that time of year for burgerville to have them.

I like to bring a walla walla onion and a potato with me when camping on the coast. You slice the potato into sections and stick onion strips into those sections. Then press it all together, cover in tin foil, and throw on the coals for 45 minutes. If you have extra onion, just do the same. Nothing better than a caramelized onion.

I'll pm you about the clones. They are not quite rooted but not far off.

Here are some pics of the clones.

Pic 1 is the humidity dome I hastily assembled.
Pic 2 are the clones inside, not doing great, but not dead after almost 2 weeks
Pics 3 and 4 are the ones I tried transplanting to soil because I though they were rooted, but only one had a tiny start of a root. I doubt these two will live, but ya never know...

Subscribed... Have you checked pick'n mix web site or attitude seedbank? Pick'n mix is just like what the name suggests you pick single seeds from different seed companies. I bought from both pick and mix and attitude and they are both reliable. I also heard that TH seeds' S.A.G.E. is a low odor one. Some says she smells like wild sage :)

That box may look pretty (because my fiance decided on the colors) but it is too hot in there, even during winter. I should be able to fix that (updates on this coming, I ordered the replacement activated carbon already) but nonetheless, it is a lot of watts to run an A/C unit, a big exhaust fan, multiple PC fans, a dozen 23 watt CFLs, and a 250 watt HPS. Using the sun is so much cheaper. As someone clinging to unemployment and not wanting to get a job, that suits me!

Here are some pics of the WMD and Rainwreck flowering. Leaves on the WMD are yellowing and falling off too soon for my liking, otherwise all is well. WMD is 7-8 weeks or so and just starting to dense up. Rainwreck is 3-4 weeks and seems sativa dominant to me, very slow.

Those pictures remind me of a line from some movie I watched... "Frost yourself" :p. They look good and yummy.

Thanks, but what they offer is exactly what I was already looking at. $18.06 for an NL seed, $2.80 for a NL/Skunk/Haze seed. I would love a $3 seed, but I bet it will stink when flowering. $18 is more than I would pay for a single seed, even magical beanstalk
