Hi guys,Im gonna finish my first grow and wanna turn some money into a better ops ! Ok,here is my situation,I purchased for a high-usage consumption (3 phase electric power) because 1 phase is used for my house requirement (several ac,lamps,pumps) and it will become a trouble if use 1 phase to grow here (i don't use any power source of 1 phase for growing)

I also know an amatuer electrician can help me wiring and set up the ops but he could only do everything without calculating the numbers ( i means he can't calculate amps,volt..etc. For safety case) so my question is :
-The power comp set the breaker at 80amps,i wanna run 8 1k hps (i run sog/hydro),two 36000btu ac for cooling.One 600hps for mothers and one 14000btu.Will my set up be fine ?
P/s : two 36k btu will run on 3 phase power.The rest runs on 1 phase (8k,600hps,14k btu) but the power source also comes from 3 phase breaker ! Please help me out !!! Thanks for reading n have a gud day

So let me get this right, you have someone wiring your house for 3 phase power but cant do simple amperage calculations? are you upgrading wiring? what voltage (this is pretty important)? sounds like a fire waiting to happen tbh. There is no such thing as an amateur electrician. I have a degree in electrical engineering and I'm still not an electrician, amateur or otherwise.

Whats the actual benefit/goal in this? Simply for discretion purposes, or is this a cost/energy saving thing?

Im intrigued but the more research I attempt the deeper I fall, lol. Seems almost as tho a phase 3 power system would actually allow for 120/240 on the same system? I dunno, I been puff-browsing and I've gone n gotten so high its time to go to work and I haven't educated myself at all! Merely added to the questions, lol.

3 phase actually allows for 3x high amperage 240V circuits.

To give you an idea, here is a 3 phase distribution board I designed (and had an electrician build).


So it accepts a a 415V into a 180amp breaker. this breaks it into 3x 240V 60amp RCD breakers which then breaks is down further into 6 x 240V 10amp circuit breakers, so from one 3phase input, I have 18 x 240V 10amp sockets + 2 x 415V 50amp sockets + can be daisy chained to another distribution board and done all over again as long as infrastructure can supply the power safely. I designed it for a company I worked for which sold it to me when they closed up shop. It now runs my grow room, haha. (FYI, I had a professional electrician install it for me, haha)

thank you in advance for reply was only an electrician for one year haha. I assume I am okay since nothing has tripped for couple years but just want to make sure. I have a 20 amp circuit that I run (2) 1000 watt hps lights a 6" exhaust blower and a 16" oscillating fan on. I KNOW this is cutting it close to 20 amps am I safe or could this start a fire one day? I tried running an extension cord from another circuit to take the load of one of the lights but the cord and the timer burnt and melted together, was hard to get them apart so that made me nervous. Was this just because the timer shouldn't be on an extension cord (12 gauge). Thank you -Dan

What voltage? How many watts are your fans? If stuff is melting, yes, that's bad, Haha.

If you're 110V, just your lights are like 18.1amps, an additional 200W would bring you to 20amps

Actually,I spent money on the last two grows (reggie strain) with gud result and no problem due to his skill,no melting no firing and some hardcore breakers (i do overkill on wiring setup,use the big cord for my ops for 3000w and 45000btu on a thermostat for enviroment control) but I realized gud genetic can bring more money,call me a greedy guy if u want ^.^ !

-1 phase contract (220v) : only use for living activities,such as u buy a house there,live with your family or friends,use serveral ac units,cfl lights,washing machine... etc.High bill is a way to get trouble if u use over 2500kw/month due to my house.NOT USE FOR ECONOMIC ACTIVITES
-3 phase contract (380v) : this choice is for economic activites (use lots of electricity) like restaurants,factory but the price is higher and you have to use 3 phase required machines ! But my amatuer electrician master did a modify on the breaker to use 220v for whole system (NOT STEALING POWER) and he told me this is very gud,no trouble !

Im also a noob at electricity but no worry,time will makes u gud,keep it simple and make a plan about everything u gonna do ! Cheers my friend

This still sounds so dodgy, but hey, your house man. What he's probably done is just separated one of the 3 phases off the main breaker to give you and additional 220V circuit. For what you want, ask if he can install a 50A RCD off the 3 phase breaker, this will give you 5 x 10A connections that he can then wire into new or existing sockets.

8k of lights is over 36A in 220V, you cannot run that over a single 220V circuit, it needs to be split.

Your power consumption is going to be ridiculously high running that much gear, a shit load more than a normal house, no one will ask why you're using enough power to run a small factory? Lol

Today,my friend gave me a way to talk with a professional electrician (his friend) and that pro electrician will covers my things the next time (he is working for a big company) ! So no more fk paranoiaaa when walkin on the beach with some hot asses ...in my dream,lol

-no sell,no tell,no smell
-loose lips sink ship
-always paid in time and paid in cash,leave no track !
-use many fone numbers,don't hang over with a lot of people and girls (fuck the bitches is ok ^.^)
-always have a real job,quite gud income
-be nice with your neirbor not be so CLOSED !!!
-DON'T CRACK HARD DRUGS AND GET STONED TOO MUCH ! KEEP A CLEARED HEAD,WORKING HARD IN THE OPS
-and FINALLY,AGAIN,PAID IN TIME AND PAID IN CASH,NOONE's GONNA ASK WTF r u DOIN BRO !!!!
=> my lifestyle is smt likes take a bong hit,roll a juicyj,go fishing,drinkin some beers,then go to eat somethin and back to my ops !

Btw,this house has a long time history because my father is the owner ! He is an uni professor,quite gud income (this is a gud cover ever !!!!!!!!!) and a very gud citizen ! I do many jobs at this time,no more time for meaningless activities so people around can't be surprised when I gotta love a superbike or buy an Audi in case,thanks to everyone helping me and sharing the knowledge here,EDUCATION IS THE BEST WEAPON - nelson mandela

Fly under the radar :D I always have a reason for high usage consumtion,how abt u bro ? How many watts are u running and what method ?
I'm running 6k atm but I have run upto 12k in the same location, but i'm in a 5500sqm industrial complex that I own, so no one is going to bat an eyelid at my power usage, even if I was using 100K.
