About When Do Autos Begin To Bud?

Are they all wildly different, or is there a certain range I can expect to start seeing buds? I am just beginning week 5 (from sprout) on some EasyRyders and a 60-day Wonder.

They're from feminized seeds, so hopefully I don't have any balls. First grow, so I'm not certain what to look for. Should I be able to tell by now?

Re-reading the FAQ about identifying sex, but I'm not sure how this applies to autos. My understanding is that you can't really identify sex until you switch to 12/12 and induce flowering, but that doesn't apply to autos since they pretty much skip veg, right? So at what point can I expect to see something definite?

your right 12/12 does not apply to autos, and at 5 weeks there should be some indication of sex. Any white hairs near the near the stems? A picture would help alot lol

I can only speak to the Easyryders because I've grown them several times and harvested 2 of them today. They usually show sex around 21, give or take several days. No big deal if it takes 30 days. If you're just beginning week 5 which equals day 29, you should have started seeing female pistils shooting out on the Easyryder. Are they there?

In any event, once they start throwing pistils, it will continue to do so at a fairly rapid rate. Not sure if that answers you question.

Just checked, and one ER is definitely in pre-flower. The white pistils, just as you describe pablo, are obvious and plentiful and very white. I see possible pistils on the other three, but they are more greenish and not nearly as obvious. You both would probably know right away, but I'm not experiences enough to be able to tell for sure. I can say that I see no sign of any "balls" or anything that looks like the pics of male pre-flowers I've seen. Interesting to note that the one that is obvious pre-flower is the only one I didn't top (I know...I fucked up, no topping autos). Is it possible the others are a little behind? I am going to get a microscope tomorrow and have a better look.

autoflowa: I know, man, I'm weird about pics. I just can't shake the feeling that it somehow could implicate me down the road, like I could be full of total shit in this post, but the minute I attach a pic and declare it my own, I've made it more palpable. I'm sure I'm just being overly paranoid; people post pics here all the time without repercussion, but when I started this whole thing, I just decided up front that I would avoid posting pics unless absolutely necessary. I find I can compensate by looking at other pics and comparing to my own.
