Hey all, going to be making a soil mix. I have run LC's soilless mix before and it was nice, a little pricey to put together initially which is why I wanted to run this through other eyes.

Base-
4cf or 30 gallons~of Espoma Organic Potting Mix-https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00553BLPA/ref=ox_sc_act_image_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

6 gallons EWC

10 gallons of Perlite/pumice (I know about the perlite, but I have been running Hempys and have a huge bag)

Then to that I will add

http://buildasoil.com/products/nutrient-kit-without-minerals

And

http://buildasoil.com/products/mineral-mix-kit

I will also be adding

3lbs Fish Bone Meal
http://shop.coastofmaine.com/products/fishbonemeal

And BioChar, the already charged(have a question about which size bag I should get here?) version.

How does this look? I will inoculate it with a tea per my recipe I use below and let it cook for 2 weeks~Will be using 5 gallon pots for keeper phenos and 1 gallons for 12/12 from seed. Going to be feeding two AACTs at week 2 and 4 in flower using 1 cup EWC, 1 cup cold thermal compost over 2 years old! And 1 tap molasses per 2 gallon of water. I will also use the leaf compost I have going from all my other grows as mulch, and probably topdress with some EWC when I water in the second tea...thanks!

P.S

I also had a question slightly off topic to the general direction of this thread...my tap is 7.0 350~ ppm and after sitting 24 hours it's 8.0~ 375~ ppm...is that okay to water with at any stage?

I am no expert but what I would recommend is short. Biochar that's pretty pricey. Go to Walmart lowes etc (might be out of season now but look up cowboy carcoal. Use that as biochar. But a bag crush it up so you have alot alot of nice small pieces and then some nice med size quarter size pieces which help with areation also charge it for a week wIth a alfalfa kelp ferment tea for a week. I would add a nice chunk of extra areation it's always needed. As extra chunky biochar. Builld your own worm bin and feed the worms your ammendments. Let it cook for the longest you can the better it will be. 4 weeks min. Alfalfa should be added to soil while cooking and. A ferment or tea gping inot flower during strench stage. Yes water with what ya got don't go crazy with it rain is great of you can collect it if not no biggie.

your mix should be 33% EWC or compost, 33% peat, 33% drainage or more simply, equal parts of those three things. this is your base mix target recipe. can be tweaked a little in any direction for your liking but that's a solid place to start for the base mix.

you need to bump up the worm castings big time.

you need to find out what the ratio of peat to perlite is in that espoma potting soil. as i mentioned above you want equal parts peat to drainage to humus (ewc or compost) for a good base mix.

the nutrient and mineral packages will be great. the biochar i wouldn't add more than 5% of your total soil volume for the first time. so if you have say 6cuft of soil mixed (45 gal) you would need 2.25 gal of biochar for a 5% composition.

i'm not sure about the well water but generally the purest water you can get is the best. you want to simulate rain water in living soil. so either collect rain water, or get a decent filter to get that ppm down a bit. but i would guess just plain old well water will suffice.
