OK, im about 10 days in and they look great, strong and healthy but id like to give them some extra light. I was thinking about adding a couple of CFL's. I'm using a 36" double flouro now, 40 watt day glow if im not mistaken. Here's where it gets tricky, I want to add CFL's but do i have to take down the flouros? I was going to buy another flouro hood and go with two more tubes but I cant find another 36" hood and thats all the room i have. So im wondering if i should replace the flouros with the CFL's or if i mount the CFL's as vertical lighting will they still benefit the plants?

Could use the vertical if they're on the sides of yur plants, but if you want up above, just get a power bar and rig it up the best you can. Check out my grow, i've got a power bar rigged up and it works lovely

Just get some cheap floodlights that take standard bases, take the reflectors off, and put your CFL's in them. Then set 'em around the middles of your plants where the light hits the most mass of the plants. Keep the dbl flouro still over the top of them. Easy.

i think i may give it a try, so the cfl's along side the flouros would work fine? i may clamp them to the hood and counter weight the fuckers, lol
