Adding oxygen to an ebb n grow bucket system without air pumps and stones

Has anyone used a venturi tee in their drain and fill pumps to oxygenated their water? I like the simplicity of it but was having trouble finding a fitting. But I did find this...

Seems a bit overkill for an ebb n flow system. I guess it would help but im not sure.. id have to see it in action before i altered my own system.

I dont think thatll work as well as you think. It would just introduce air bubbles into the water stream, not increase dissolved oxygen as intended. You could try to 'waterfall' the water back into the res, that'd help.

I havent done hydro in a minute but iirc ebb and flow doesnt have the temp or DO requirements of other types of hydro. If you think about it, youre flushing stale air out of the rootzone everytime you flood, and you pull fresh air back into the rootzone when it ebbs away. Also, roots arent submerged in the solution, so DO content isnt as big a deal...

Hope that helps!
