adjusting ph question

i was wondering can i adjust my ph with my roots?? or do i have to drain it into another bucket and adjust it and add it back in

well.... i would at least take the plant out when mixing the chems.... depending on what your using to change your ph it could burn the roots if it comes in direct contact with them
