Advanced Nutrients Substitutes?

Hi All, I am looking for some lower cost alternatives to some of the Advanced Nutrients lineup. I was thinking of using something like:

Nirvana
B-552
Overdrive
Rhino Skin
Bud Candy
Bud Factor-X
Big Bud

They seem to be very good at marketing and I am wondering if there are other products out there as good at a lower cost?

Thanks

Silica Blast from Botanicare replaces Rhino Skin. Same thing but rhino skin is like 3x as much.
B1 Superthrive replaces B-52. Both do the same pretty much.
Bud Candy is just another sweetener so check out Botanicare's Sweet.
Nirvana is pretty good. So is Big Bud and Overdrive (not very expensive either). I would cut the BF-X though. Wayyy to over prices for doing what it does.

Also check out some beneficial bacteria and beneficial fungi. Bigger roots = bigger fruits. And a healthy root zone. Check out Great White root booster and Aqua Shield from Botanicare. They will take care of your roots with no problem.

I use the 3-part base, B-52, Voodoo Juice, Big Bud, Bud Candy, Overdrive, and Final Phase.

Rhino skin and b-52 are useless IMO. You don't need them. There really is no need to replace bud candy, big bud, overdrive, they are at least reasonable. bud factor x is pretty good stuff but by far the most expensive on your list. You could just skip it and use more base nutes. And I agree with Tmac, you need beneficial bacteria, and if you are going to use AN's voodoo juice or any other they are pretty expensive. There is a thread on here about making your own beneficial bacteria. Search and you will find.

I just like a silica additive. It can only help really. Especially if you new to growing. It can give you some extra wiggle room for mistakes, imo. B vitamins are actually pretty helpful. The plants green-ness gets more full from my experience, but not necessary. I wouldn't recommend Voodoo Juice, personally. It's like $50 for a 500ml. :/ Aqua Shield from Botanicare does the exact same thing pretty much, but $35 less. That mixed with Great White will be a great combo, imo. Look for the root slime cure thread in hydroponics. It's a great tea recipe that can be used through out the entire grow as a preventative measure against harmful anaerobic pathogens and unwanted fungi. The roots go CRAZY for it too!

Just keep in mind that sometimes you can lose money saving it.

Go cheap at the register and you're more likely to grow cheap-tasting bud. There's a reason people buy the premium ferts and it's not because they have too much money. I've been growing with AN for years because I know that come harvest I'm going to have something that's not just good, it's great.

hugetom. not bashing AN. great products. But search for the user homebrewer. he does a side by side comparison of AN vs Dyna.
