I'd like to upgrade from CFL to LED. I'd like to try LED because of the heat and higher operating cost of HID lamps.
This light seems to get great reviews, although a bit expensive to me. The description says it can cover an area 4.5x3.8, but I find that hard to believe. "400w HPS replacement with 4.5ft x 3.8ft coverage at 18" height - PERFECT for compact applications or using multiple units for even coverage."

So my question is, can this lamp do what it claims as far as coverage? Also, what would be some good quality less expensive alternatives. I'd rather buy a more expensive light that has had a lot of great reviews than a cheaper piece of junk, but I'm open to suggestions. Perhaps two lamps of lower wattage would work better for more even coverage?

As far as grow tents grow I'm looking to light up this: http://shop.gyostuff.com/GrowLab-GL80L-3x5-Grow-Tent-706860.htm
