It depends on the size of the plantsI'm using soil. When it comes to space I have a whole backyard at my disposal for an indoor grow room. I just want to know what would be the minimum space requirement for that amount of plants. I actually plan on growing a lot more, I have a friend I live with who grows as well who'd be willing to help.
Are you talking about the 12/12 photo-period grow straight from seedling? I have always been interested in that and would really like to do that. I'm just afraid I might kill them or something I heard that led's now can actually offer better penetration than HID's.I've run the gambit from growing a shit-ton of small plants to growing a few trees.
It does depend on how you want to grow. I've found a perpetual grow schedule (plants that start 12/12 at 2 week intervals in my case) optimizes space, you always have something to harvest, you don't need a bunch of plants in veg, and not all plants will be mature at the same time. My rule-of-thumb is to have at least 2'x2' space for each plant....and that keeps them snug but still gets light to the lower half of the plants.
You mentioned COBs.....If that's what you're going with, you are limited to short plants if you want positive results as that type of lighting does not have the penetration that HID's offer. The best growing technique for that lighting is a SOG or SCROG or a vertical grow......so going with a perpetual schedule doesn't apply.
Honestly, if you're a new grower attempting advance growing techniques like SOG's and SCROG's are really something for those that have been growing for awhile. Here's my opinion (everyone has one) of how to start growing.

Lol I'm just messing with you guys. I am going to do 4-5 plants as was recommended. I mean I can build a shed of what ever size I need outside. I'm sorry I don't know a lot, I was just going to put them in a medium size pot and transfer them if needed and I was planning on doing a 4 month veg time but I'm actually interested in no veg time, just straight to flower but if that proves to difficult I'm going to look into SOG so maybe 2 or 3 gallon pots. You make no sense, you have an entire backyard to use for indoor? You were asked specifics and didn’t answer what pot size, veg time , lights etc. Then you randomly throw out 80 plants. If this is your first grow start small and possibly have some success or start large and guarantee failure... it’s a lot of work, GL
