this is the dimensions for my veg. box. How many lumens would you say are needed for this amount of space? How many lumens are needed per cubic foot of space for optimal results. I have used MH for many years for large grows but am not used to small grows. CFL's seem like the berst best. I have created 2 baking pan reflectors housing 3 GE CFL Daylight Bulbs. Here are the specs:

6500 Kelvin
1600 Lumens a piece.

thats giving me 9600 total lumens in an approximatly 17 cu. ft. of space. I estimate this should be alright...especially if i add 2 25" Flor. Tubes on the side walls. What do you all think?

I figure this is putting out the correct range in spectrum for the veg cycle.
I have a bigger area for flowering....using a small 150 watt HPS with a cooled vent. Pics comming soon of all of this. I was wondering if anyone had any other idea on lighting.....i need to get some shit going...and i plan on having maybe 4 going in there keeping them real bushy. This is a small grow im only looking for a couple oz. a time. Any suggestions plz assist. Pics commin soon!

well you have just over 6 sq feet in your veg box, that gives u 1476 lumens per sq foot. the sun produces 10,000 lumens per sq foot. you will need at least a 250 hps to flower 4 plants IMO. im my area i have 198,000 lumens in a 36 sq foot area, which comes out to 5500 lumens per sq foot, and i would still like to have more light.
