Aerating Your Water/Fertilizer For Soil Grows

Hello again Roll it up. This is my second thread, and I just wanted to really take a consensus as to who else Aerates their water and or their water-fertilizer solution before actually adding it to their soil medium plants.

I personally, use distilled water, and use a small air pump and air stone, and aerate the water for 48 hrs prior to watering. I also, let my fertilizer solution, once mixed with the water, aerate for 3 hours before actually applying ferts.

I believe this greatly enchances my plants roots. I know plants love oxygen rich water, so I figured it cant hurt. Which I can say that it actually promotes really vigourious growth.

So, does anyone out there apply same or similar tactics? Just wanted to see if I was all alone on this one, or if I was with the pack. I appreciate any comments.
I also apologize for the lack of proper spelling on any of my words. I am bongsmilie.

:peace:

i only aerate my teas, soil has air in it. i don't really see much benifit in aerating water, not saying its useless, just that i don't see the advantage

Why distilled water?
I am a Organic Chemistry Major and have access to it, and a lot of it. Moreso, I can only really get tap water, which is horrible to use, IMO. If I was not on a tight budget, I would just pick up spring water from local mart. However, distilled is free, and better than spring water.

My efforts are to increase total oxygen delivered to the roots. Moreso, air in soil is limited even when using premo soil that has aeration measures added to it. I use Ocean Forest with about 20-25% PERLITE. I can say that the difference since I have started aerating water/ferts is tremendous. I vegged out my white widow for one month. She is official one week into flowering and is looking tits on. Shes like 26 inches and has about 500 watts of cfl ( 2700k). Considering the indica dominate genetics of her, she is really impressive for her age and conditions. I am using the full line up of fox farms, but I notice growth has really sky rocketed and I have not made any changed to normal amounts of feedings.

If you're that serious about aeration you would be far better off doing a straight Perlite grow.

aerating the water is great and all but when u turn it off and pour it in your plants how long do u think that water stays aerated?I would go with the soiless medium if u want more air in your root zone .

Well thanks for all the great feedback. I got exactly what I needed. Thanks for letting me in on the hydroponics. I am aware of what it is, just never heard of seen someone use a all perlite medium. Typically I have seen rockwool, or coco.

You're aerating way too long as an air pump/airstone combo is only going to give you about 8ppm of O2 in your solution. And you can hit your 8ppm in about 30 minutes too. If you're using pure O2, then you can get up to 25-30ppm and that only takes 60 seconds with an airstone.
