Aero/DWC cloning help

Hi all I was trying to find ways to make a DWC or Aero cloner but I don't want to buy one and I can't find the plugs that are used in the systems were I am and I am not going to order them online. What can I use as a plug to put my cuttings in?

I am not looking for a floating tray I am looking to see if I can use some thing else that is like the plugs that is used in Ez-Cloner since I can't find them here and don't want to order them

Hi all. Ok I was looking around and I might have found a store near me that sells Neoprene Inserts but now my question is can I grow a full size plant with out having to use a net pot of any sorts or is it a must use a net pot with the Neoprene?

Any reason for all this? sounds like you're making it complicated. Personally i just set a net cup in a dwc bucket and chuck the rockwool cube in it and it roots right out. If not using net cups, then i don't bother with any starting medium whatsoever and just duck tape the sucker in place and pop it in the DWC

I wanna see if I can use the Neoprene Inserts because I don't want to use duck tape or have to use rockwool. I want to start some peppers and clone then and use the plug so that when I am ready I can take them out of the system and plant them out side

In that case why not simply buy peat pellets and shove them in a propogator? If they're being stuck outside, then i would just do it any old how, i'd just shove em in rockwool, root them out and plant the rockwool cube in the garden, no need to remove it etc. If they are later being transplanted into soil outside, then it makes more sense to me to start them in soil or peat etc so there's not so much bare root transplant shock.

Because if I can grow it just using the plug to hold it then I don't have to mess with rock wool or seedling soil or any of that stuff

Rockwool or peat pellets or duck tape are no more or less work than using a neoprene plug. I'm confused tbh, they all do the same thing and none are more complex or involved than the next from experience i've had with em.

I don't want to mess with any of those that's why I want to use the plugs. Its simple and fast to do for cloning and or growing in. If your not gonna help answer my question if they will hold the plants when they are bigger please stop posing in here. I want to know if it can no ands ifs or buts

For pepper plants that are going outside they should be fine until you transplant, where i believe it would be easier to use a rooter of some sort. You did not say what size the neoprene were so i have to assume 2" and i have grown a full size plant in one of those, just dont expect it to hold all the weight by itself.

PVC makes awesome collars. You just cut them to lengths of about 4cm and you'll need to cut holes in your box with a hole cutter. They last for years and are easy to clean.

Thanks. I do plan on using a rooting powder or gel don't know how well it will work on the DWC cloning thing but I'll have to see. I don't want to use any sort of medium because I dk how big they are gonna get and I don't want to have a pot that I have to upgrade. If I grow them using the plug way can I plant them into a pot and let then veg that way for 2 weeks then transplant them out side with no bad side effects?

Also I was looking at the 3.5 inch size of plugs.
