AEROGARDEN 24 days from seed!!!

here is the pics of my aerogarden grow. This is my first grow and so far I have had problems, and fixed everything. My biggest problem at first was water PH. After fixing the problem by testing and maintaining water PH the plants have boomed in growth. I am using Grow Big and Tiger Bloom. I started flowering on day 21 and the plants are about 8-10 inches tall. I bought a small 9 dollar air pump with air stones from Petco along with PH up and PH down. The Fish Tank PH meter is only 17 bucks as well. I have replaced my water and nutes every week. I foliar feed 3 times a day with grow big mixed 1 teaspoon/gallon. I am not using any other lights at this time. I thought about investing in a 400hps but wanted to see how the aerogarden was gonna work. I am a cabinet maker and have made a grow box inside of a entertainment center. It is being finished as we speak and will house 3 Aerogardens, two for growing and 1 for clones. Each compartment has enough room for the garden and plants. I have a small febreeze carbon filter that has worked great so far. The plants are starting to get a real nice aroma and the cheap 14 dollar febreeze carbon filter has done a good job of covering it up! I have included some photos, and would love to hear some pointers or would love to assist anyone else that would like to brainstorm on using the aerogarden as it is without mods. The purpose of my grow is not to profit but to grow personal for myself and friends.

i believe they are 24 watt HPS bulbs, I was told at one point at time that the Aerogarden only uses like 60 watts of power

don't know, its my first grow and trying to see what it could do without adding a light or modifying the machine at all. I used bag seed for this test and saved the good seeds for the second or third grow.

Yea I know how you feel Jatoba, but you're gonna end up needing more light. Check out my AG thread. My biggest plant is like 3ft now...way too big for the AG alone w/out supplental light.

move your lights within 2-3 inches of the plants and watch them explode, or get more lights. you will need them if you try to flower with it, unless your satisfied with a quarter or less per plant

3 aero gardens and possibly a 400w hps? jeez, why not just stay with the one aerogarden and throw the rest of the money at a light and into a bucket/rubbermaid with an airstone for when the plants get bigger?

ok... just a little update! So far I have had 2 males that I have now tossed out. 1 Female which was the largest plant in the bunch! Yipee... and one plant that had early nute or ph problems and was way behind. That plant has not shown yet and will likely never show its too immature. The large female plant is now showing 8 white hairs at the top of the plant at the top two sets of nodes. There is bulging at all of the lower nodes of the plant. It is about 12-15 inchs or so and has filled out rather nice! The aroma is kicking in. I am a first time grower and have researched to no end but still don't know what to expect. Any heads-ups would be great. Thanks guys...

Hey buddy nice job and welcome to the club. my only suggestion is keeping the lights as low as possible untill the plants are 1 inch away from touching at all times. Get more CFL's. look at my pics.

You don't need an airstone but cant hurt i guess...ive never used one...

Peace

I have bought 2 cfl's because everyone has been telling me to get them. I bought a 23 watt and 100 watt, i think the 100 watt one only uses like 42 watts or something like that. Is it best to place them over the plants instead of the aero light, or should I leave the aero light in place and use the cfl's around the sides? And for the foil, is it bad to have it there, or is it better to use something else? I was told to have reflective surfaces around the grow environment, i just thought foil would do the trick. Tomorrow will be the end of week 5, 2 weeks into flowering. What kind of yields should be expected on average? Thanks guys!!!

Ok...

Put the cfl's on the side and maintain using the aerogarden lights as well....again look at my pics...

As far as foil goes I once heard that you could line the area with foil but to use the none reflective side out because it reduces heat spots or somthing.....But mylar would work better or a glossy white paint, and there is also paint with like shiny metalic metal pieces or somthig in it for reflecting light...

For yields.....It really depends...if this is your first grow expect less...maybe like 1/8 oz per plant dried... if you have knowledge and knowledge w/ the aerogarden i'd say could be as much as 1/2 oz per plant dried....

Peace
