Hello everyone, i recent just got an aerogarden classic and have set it up to the continuous run 24 right now but had a few questions.. Which pod get the most light? what it the best switch for the veg. period? Also i was reading on here that someone went out and bought a survival kit and use one of the blanket to cover the machine, well i went ahead and did this A) to reduce lighting at night time and B) to obviously keep a more suitable environment, but should i be concerned about the blanket melting or catching on fire? Thanks for all your help and ill keep this cyle posted.

Mylar is "heat set" or crystallized under tension in an oven at temperatures typically above 200 °C, I don't think you'll have to worry about it catching fire because of your Aerogarden. However you'll want to make sure that the heat underneath the blanket does not exceed 80 or so degrees.

I would only do 4 plants at a time, keep them in there own corner of the AG, salad Greens is good

Just did a little work on my AG. Bought a standard Elite E799 air pump, connect that through a little hole i cut in the back grove of the tub. I got a bubbler tube and cut it to about 3in and stuck that to the bottom from of the tub and hit the tubbing and wallah, its better now i will let ya know how it goes.

ive always used salad greens until I realized that it runs all the time and causes mold, just my theory but since i went back to tomatoes it went away..

Will mold cause if its continuously running, i have the label covers on them, no excess light is getting in and the temp. is about 68-72 F

That little machine is the sh*t. Three weeks into planting the seedlings in the pod, the plants reached 8 1/2 inches. In about 2 - 3 more weeks, I can start Flowering. Gonna end up with an Ebb & Flow system for Flowering but it's great for clones and sprouting seedlings. I germinated with paper towles b4 I placed in AeroGrow. I ended up buying hydro-nutrients and used 'em with the -nutes supplied with the AeroKit. I also put an airstone in the resevoir for extra O2 just 2 be anal. GO AEROGROW!!!
