What up,

today is day 4 since putting the germinated seeds into the AeroGarden. Everything is looking fine except for the one straggler who still isn't showing any signs of life ... the taproot has grown but it hasn't started to sprout. Any ideas as to why ?

[Joseaf] - Nice grow, ya the AG is sick but once u start growing and you realize how big the roots are going to become you understand that the AG tank is a bit tiny. Im subscribed so good luck with the growwww

[HomeGrownHairy] - I had cut the sponges on one side all the way to the bottom and so far the roots are looking good ....

I went out to get a fan today and NO stores had any .... i never realized that fans are a seasonal thing. Anyways i bought one off a guy on craigslist so im'a go get it in a bit. Once i get the fan up and going ill take some pics !

Peace, R.I.K4LIFE :leaf:

Hey,

So i just got back from getting a fan ... just hooked it up and its blowing a nice breeze onto the plants ! You can already tell the difference in temperature .... it was getting hot in there before adding the fan.

Right now everything is looking good. 4 of the 5 seeds are cruising along and there is still no love from the 5th. Could be a lost cause but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

[Elove11] - Ya man, once i finish the vegetating stage I'm going to buy 4 40-watt CFL's that put out 2600 lumens each. I figure it will help a lot when flowering and the plants will enjoy them !

Here's a pic of the new fan in front of the plants. How much air should i be putting on them ? There is a HIGH and LOW speed and right now I have it on LOW and in rotating mode so all the plants get love.

Let me know what you think, R.I.K4LIFE :leaf:

The tank is WAY TOO Small. I fill the tank Tuesday and today, Thursday morning, the tank is half empty.

I plan to move the clones to my Ebb/Flow system in the veg area. The AeroGarden is nice for a kitchen setup or clones for a couple of weeks, but not growing plants that can get over a foot tall, unless you want to fill the tank everyday.

Its really not that hard to fill it up daily, IF it gets like that, you still have to see when they sex how many females your going to have, and plus its only during flowering anyways, so what is filling it up daily for not even a couple months gonna do? just have to have two gallon jugs ready to go, not really that hard but its different to each person i guess, good luck

I agree. I have all female clones in the system now. I may move 3 or 4 plants to the ebb/flow area and let the rest flower in the AeroGarden. It would be a good experiment.

What mode are you running the system to get 12/12?

Hey,

Today is day 6 of the germinated seeds being in the AeroGarden. Right now the lights are on an 18/6 cycle which i am trying to change so that the 6 hours of dark happens at night time .... right now it happens between 9am -3pm ..... not goodtimes.

Besides that everything is looking real good. The one straggler seed is still taking its sweet a*s time. My only question is how close is too close for the fan ?

Ill add some pictures when the lights go back on in a couple hours.

Thanks, RIK4LIFE :leaf:

What it do,

I haven't been on this for awhile but lots has changed in the grow ! So far i have 3 nice looking plants growing, shown in the pictures below. Also you can see one that is struggling ... any ideas as to why ? Finally i have one that never did anything so i got 4/5 left .... still enjoying it though !

Right now my only worry is that the water is getting absorbed really quickly in the AeroGarden. I cleaned it out on sunday and added new nutes and now today (friday) it has already dropped a considerable amount to the point that i added more water to fill it up to the "fill line".

Take a look at the pictures attached and let me know what you think !

idk, its probably dead, i would move you two biggest plants t the back two corners of the AG so they have more room for them selves

What it is,

Just a little update. Got home today from being away for 24 hrs and have finally decided to give up on the 5th seed that has struggled from the get go. When i took the seed out of the pod to inspect it, the seed had only ever grown a tap root 1cm long during germination and had not grown since. It was sad but i had to make room anyways ! Right now 3 are loving life and one is still a bit behind.

Ill take pictures either later today or tomorrow and post them .

One thing I've found that has really helped me with my germed seeds is when you're transplanting them into the pods, dip the tap root into some rooting powder (you can get it at Wal-mart in the Garden section for like five bucks) and that really helps them take hold. I've even done this on new germed seeds that I've accidentally broken the end of the tap root off, leaving like 1/2" only and they've taken off!

Just a note on the little one - you should really do something to cover up the pod because having the sponge thingy exposed to the light will cause it to get moldy, etc.

Here are the most recent pictures ... let me know what you think

The one with the dome still on is struggling and looks like it may have nute burn ? i crush the nutes up in a cup and let them dissolve before pouring them into the reservoir.
