Aerogarden help

Ive recently setup my aerogarden and I used the guide that was posted on here by Lurkmaster. I have an aerogarden 3 mini with bag seed plants going. I have 5 CFL lights + the aerogarden light. I have foxfarm nutrients (didnt add them for the first two weeks like guide says)and i have a pH test kit and the pH is inbetween the 4.5-7.5 range (see pic - approx 6). I have the lights around 4 inches or more away.

I started it on November 3rd. Plants were doing great and they have a large root system going until about November 11 when the plants started to get little burn like marks on the leaves and then on Nov 12 it started drooping, and now it looks like this! Help please!

Oh my god, how much do they charge for those liitle ass bottles of pH up and pH down. It is about $12 for a quart of phosphoric acid (pH down) on eBay or $4 per pound for potassium hydroxide flakes (pH up). I had no idea they sold it in such small bottles. All the nutrient n mnafactures are marking it up heavily though. They are sellingthe ingrediants diluted for about 6 times the price of the standard concentrated solutions. Go figure. They do through in a few cents of calcium carbonate for a buffer with the pH up. And a liitle nitric acid with the pH down. Neither are really needed.

I digress:

Link with photos of plant problems. http://www.marijuana-seeds.net/Thanks-ThankYou.htm

It can become quite expensive doing reagent type pH tests as youshould test the pH daily. pH of 5.6 to 5.8 is the range. High pH causes many nutrient problems as does incraesing nutrient concentrations do to water evaporation.

Most nutrients out there are inherently low in magnesium. I know of only about 10 nutrient formulations being sold that have magnesium provided at adequate levels for pot growing. When used with soil grows it really doesn't matter as it is quite common to adjust soil pH with dolomite lime, but with no media (aero) or inert media magnesium must be provided. Dolomite limes is a magnesium carbonate. With soiless media you would need to add a small amount of magnesium sulfate. You would need to add about 1.4 grams per gallon or up to double that during budding. If for no other reason magnesiujm should be provided in order for magneisun carbonates to form for pH buffering. Many people however use tap water and most tap water is hard enough that enough magnesium in the form of magnesium carbonates are provided. If your water supplier uses surface water from lakes, reservoirs or rivers that is most often not the case as little calcium will be present.

You do realise Magnesium Sulfate is sold at about all grocery stores in their pharmacy/vitamin section. It is often referred to as Epson Salts. Some people use it in hot water to soak their feet or use it in their bath water. They alledge it removes toxins. It is very cheap.

emptied out the res, refilled it with new nutes + 1.5mg epson salt + increased distance of plants from the lights a little bit.. lets hope this helps her out! ill add more pics when the ladies show any change

Okay, so I put in the mg, and it hasnt helped any. The lower leaves on the plant keep dying but the top leaves are doing fine, any one know why this might be? more pics added.

I'm thinking about stopping the nutrients.. its been exactly 1 month since the plants started and im not sure what to do because all the bottom leaves have died and when they die like 4 more branches start from the dead area which is why the plant in the front has so many leaves + more coming from the dead leaves right now.. what should i do?????

bro, my plants did the same exact thing before, i tried every thing, eventually i just took off the dying branches and hoped for the best, they ended up turning out to be just one bud with no branches, im not sure what it is, something is goin on, im eager to see what it is, is your grow room dusty?
