aerogarden light height and other simple questions

I've been smoking pretty regulary for about a year now so i thought i'd give it a shot to try and have myself a little op. This is my first attempt at this, so i'm obviously willing to fail, but that is how you learn. That being said, I bought my aerogarden today in hopes that i can have a little personal grow with no real expectations. I have a few questions and i've looked on this site alonge with others and couldn't find a straight forward answer(s)... thank you for looking and answering.

1) When I first start, how high should the light be?

2)What is the light/no light hour ratio i should have to start, after 4 complete leaves I know to start the flowering phase 12/12

3)What are some of the common mistakes people make when attempting the aerogarden? it seems to be pretty fool proof.

Aerogarden 6 series is the one i have if that matters.

well you should either read up on aerogarden growing on this site or just google it. ppl will rip u for asking questions like these cuz u should do ur research first.....
but to answer sum of them, light cycle for vegging is 18/6 off or 24/0. wa kind of light is it? if flourescent then you can keep plants an inch or two from the light. general rule of thumb is to put your hand underneath the light. if its too hot for your hand its too hot for tha plants yadadamean? but hey were here to help so any mo just ask
