the roots will be in the res before they are 2 weeks old anyway dude... The idea is to keep the sponge wet at all times and to keep the water flowing so it don't get staginate... Also, get you a fish tank pump and a aerator... Gives the plants roots O2 and helps keep the water in the res moving...

Do it how you want dude, im just trying to tell you what works...
I had mine set for herbs and after about a week and a half they started to wilt and look like shit. Once I set it for salad greens they perked right back up:peace:

Harb setting for growing and 12\12 for flowering is good for me

In just two weeks my plants had 2 sets of leaves almost 3 rolls. I could have started flowering if i wanted to. Air and water is the way to go TRUST ME. Herb setting for growing and 12\12 for flowering

Just wondering if this is necessary, with the hydro draining method i figures the grow medium would dry out between floods. With the aerogrden at least as you say the roots are in the water after a week or so taking up all the water they need. I have had mine set on herb from the begining and an airstone in the for o2 and to keep the water moving ,with no probs for me they never looked unhealthy, saying that i have had to pull 2 out of 5 cause of stem rot maybe that might have been an effect of the herb setting.

I guess it could also depend on the strain, but like tek said... Its a matter of preference.

Thanks for the complement Tek! I can't wait to taste the fruit of my labor...

Peace

I bought my aero garden and only one plant out of three surived but it is a female three weeks into flowering and have over twenty bud sites. I took the light off and am using four CFL's for light. I am using the nutes from the pack and have no problem. Using distilled water and when it started under 12/12 used a small amount miracle bloom boster. The plant is about 3 1/2 feet tall. I have it set to tomatoes and have had no problems. It is the bushiest plant I have seen it is bigger around than the aerogarden is wide. I can see maybe three plants fitting in my setup if all would grow this bushy.

I used AG nutes the whole time and my plant is beautiful.
Bushy.
Flowers everywhere.
I'm around 4 weeks into flowering.
I flowered at 2 weeks and I've yet to change the water since day 1.
I've never seen a speck of yellow.
Maybe my plant is really really strong or maybe I just paid her the perfect amount of attention.
NUTES DONT KILL PLANTS, PEOPLE KILL PLANTS!

Dunno bro... Guess I'm just getting use to this site still. Get tired of seeing the same questions anwsered over and over only to see the same people who asked the questions in the first place not giving a fuck about the anwsers. Don't make sence to me, but then again... You don't have to be stupid to be stoned!:peace:
